credit must be given when due. She did well since shanti priya . Hard work does pay off 👏it’s once in a lifetime and she did it ! Good for her, opportunity came and she grabbed and why not. Actually she done it all mannn, I found her presentation better than PC’s , she simply killed it! So glad they didn’t do that raccoon eye like fir cannes 😳

It wasn't BW's call really.....BW can't dictate Oscars.....also let us not forget....for America/World....its just India.....RRR is an Indian movie....Deepika is an Indian who has done HW movies too....so its not surprising that she was chosen....forget about North and South.....the important point is that Deepika didn't disappoint when the world world was watching...credit should be given where due....👍🏼

and Telugu was given due importance on stage too...👍🏼

And this is the problem. Now that the South is successful, let’s forget about North and South. Just a few years ago everyone was making fun and jokes of the South while stealing their stories.

Like I said .....for America/World....both RRR and Pathan are Indian movies.....yes we can crib and fight all we want but we are talking about Oscars here......and instead of rejoicing that both RRR and Deepika made us proud...we are complaining....I am a North Indian....and I was rooting for RRR so much...at one point I was a little disappointed that Rihana's song will win because of the emotions attached....but for me while watching Oscars .....it was RRR I was rooting for...North Indian....South Indian ....shouldn't even be in picture right now...I know so many NIs who are so elated at Natu natu winning.....chalo I am not in a mood to spoil my feeling.......its discussions like this that lead to bashing and divide.....so you carry on...I am done here.....again Natu natu...woohooo....🥳

I am a South Indian but this statement cannot be more wrong. Both the industries are interdependent as we are all Indian cinema but at the international level if anything it’s Bollywood’s back all the other Indian regional cinema are riding on. Come on, just a couple of years of low period cannot take away the decades of hardwork Bollywood has done to make inroads into the west. And seriously, this south north banter must stop. Like now!😳🙌

Deepika waa super adorable, her smile is to die for. As of now, there is really nobody who comes close to her in terms of the diva vibe. It just comes naturally to her, the grace, the poise. Totally slayed!!

Indians would be the rare species who gives undue importance to the region and differentiates people based on language or region within the country even when the discussion is about global platform. When regional language or state is belittled or its unique existence is in danger ,identifying it as separate entity is important but people forget that we are predominantly Indian. DP ,PC represented India in Oscar platform because they are known faces , ambassadors of many international brands and interestingly both of them have south Indian connection if that is important. Instead of DP, or PC .Now why the international brand chosen Deepika? I am sure they have professionals to do research and after lots of studies they choose their representative. This time it is DP , in next few years it would be Alia.

RRR is a Telugu movie when we discuss it within India but it is an Indian movie when the discussion is in international platform. Though majority of the faces in Bollywood are from Hindi speaking states bollywood is not now the industry exclusively for North Indians ,it evolved , though it is all about business .

Why this divide? Rrr is a pan Indian film. Originally shot in telugu but released all over India in multiple languages. Even if it released primarily in south India, then too isn’t South a part of India ?

We should stop encouraging north Vs south and just be united for India.

In that regard if we see Deepika ,Aishwarya both are “South Indians” who are representing India on the global platform. I am sure they are not representing only their South Indian roots there but rather as an Indian.
