I don’t think there is an exact science to how Oscars presenters are chosen. But when it comes to international categories they may prefer to choose someone who is at the top of their game ( in their country), is popular atleast with their target audiences in the US, and preferably has some international recognition.

Deepu just had an amazing run with Pathaan, she is one of the LV global ambassadors AND I know her fans want to forget this, but she has actually starred in a Hollywood production.

Choosing her isn’t that far off the mark, but if they went with AR Rahman who won for slumdog, that would have been acceptable but cmon deepu in that dress, looking like a million bucks >>>>> 😂

ARR or shekhar kapur would have been a great choice too, but yes the visibility is more for deepika given her brand endorsements

Deepika looked stunning. The dress and make up were elegant and just made her stand out. There was a lot of cheering going on for RRR, and she handled those interruptions with poise, grace, and a delightful smile. She read the crowd right and gave them room for their reactions.

Although I appreciate Deepika. I personally would’ve liked to see someone from the South rightfully introduce RRR. Bollywood has been doing a lot of “riding on the South’s back” lately.

ARR would have been a good choice since he has already won an oscar too

and its music category and he is from south

he also supported mm keeravani and rrr

It wasn't BW's call really.....BW can't dictate Oscars.....also let us not forget....for America/World....its just India.....RRR is an Indian movie....Deepika is an Indian who has done HW movies too....so its not surprising that she was chosen....forget about North and South.....the important point is that Deepika didn't disappoint when the world world was watching...credit should be given where due....👍🏼

and Telugu was given due importance on stage too...👍🏼
