There is no country in the world with as much diversity as India.

His film reached a global platform so he would obviously pitch it as a TELUGU film from INDIAN film industry.

That is not divisiveness but acknowledgment of his origins which people otherwise would not CARE to remember or distinguish.

Telugu states had fought a long hard battle to make an identity away from being clubbed as " Madrasis". And when stage presents it's not too bad to remind world that there exists Telugu, an identity of it's own, among the huge spectrum of languages and dialects of a country like India.

It's not about superiority or inferiority, just an acknowledgement of existence. They all obviously proudly represent their country in the end.

STOP with all the "-woods"!!!!!

They are ALL Indian movies!!!

RRR is an INDIAN Telugu movie, made a pan-Indian one through dubbing.

Pathaan is an INDIAN Hindi movie, dubbed in Tamil and Telugu

Drishyam is an INDIAN Malayalam movie, remade in Hindi

Ved is an INDIAN Marathi movie, a remake of the Telugu Majili

Why oh why it isn't possible for people to change these separating (and ridiculous) terms and being proud of an - first of all - INDIAN filmindustry that is the most diversified in the world!!! And then being proud of their regional language (and not some B-K-M-L-whatever -wood).

I remember there was a time when ShahRukh vehemently opposed the term "Bollywood" but then - with so many interviewers and other media-persons (especially from the West) using only this term - surrendered to using the term, too (which I can understand). Nevertheless he didn't stop to be proud of working in the Indian (Hindi) filmindustry and being friends with people of other language-filmindustries.

It is much easier for ME to disregard the term Bollywood....but how nice would it be when more and more people would adopt the kind of first Indian then region/language when talking about a movie on an international platform ...it is more accurat and respectful.

And here, in IndiaForums, why not HF (HIndi filmindustry) instead of BW (and TeF or MF or TaF or BF or...) if one doesn't want to write both words.

👏

The difference should be highlighted in a way to represent diversity not divide. While different languages represent our rich culture this whole bollywood tollywood mollywood kollywood seperates the country's art

OT:- SSR could have just said Telugu Indian movie rather than Telugu South Indian.....

So, let us start here to be united in diversity...it's an India-movie Forum...and if one absolutely wants a separate platform for the Hindi Cinema, one could easily change the title in "Hindi Filmindustry (HF): News, Movies, Chats"...

couldn't one?

Is there a possibility to have Rajamouli's whole speech?

there has 2 been requests for people to post South Indian cinema somewhere else. I saw it in 2013/2017. Very interesting 🤔

What would Ram Gopal Verma say ?

If this forum is only a Hindi one, then it should have the name "India Hindi Forum"

Actually, I did not venture into other parts except the Debate Mansion and I guess, among the members are people from all parts of India and in the world who like to discuss the subjects offered here. So I largely prefer India Forums accepting that in the HF part the Indian language used is Hindi (fortunately for me, many write in English).
