Yeah, until 2 days ago, south Indian accent, foods, habits were mocked by Bollywood. Now that the Telugu film industry has achieved something on a global stage, Bollywood wants to share credit.

Agreed totally Bollywood always mocked South Indian films , even in Kapil Sharma shows

RRR was originally a Telugu movie !

I am not Telugu but you are saying “ An absolute truth “

which is “ right “

many jackie chan movies were chinese movies not really hollywood

but ppl confused it with hollywood as its in english for world wide audience

so may be rajmouli wanted to tell its telugu movie means all technician actors writers etc were from south

its not mumbai movie i mean bollywood

like satyajit rai was a bengali film maker not bollywood

or kgf and kantara are kannada or karnataka movies not bollywood

most of the workers are from karnataka or south not bollywood

may be he meant like that

I think kantara has better chance to win oscar than RRR

He clarified that it is an Indian film, but not from Bollywood, it comes from the southern film industry of the Telugu language

Those are just facts

Also what’s wrong if he says that ? it’s not separatist …

Netflix refused to screen the original Telugu version of rrr and wanted the Hindi one only (coz it’s a more widely spoken language)…everyone in the west saw a dubbed version of it ….now for people in the west, Hindi or Telugu wouldn’t matter both would be a foreign language …so why couldn’t Netflix screen the original version with subs?

Any film maker would get extremely hurt if his work was not shown in its original language …

What’s wrong he wants to clarify that the original language spoken in the film is Telugu?

I also was shocked when I couldn’t find the Telugu version of RRR on Netflix. I was so disappointed watching it in Hindi. Even for Baahubali movies, the Telugu versions are missing but we have the Hindi, Tamil & Malayalam versions on Netflix!

Releasing in Hindi only is a business decision. If they have multiple versions, the ranking would get skewed between versions. By keeping to a single language, they maximized views and kept to top 10 for many weeks.

It is not that the North Indians mock south.

It is primarily Bollywood who had stereotypes of south and influenced in a big way.

A big example is Padosan.

Yes many North Indians don't know about south but the mocking of it is primarily from Bollywood.

Many North and South do mock each other but that is a very small percentage.

Bollywood had rather a small clique of people owning and influencing cinema. Unfortunately they also copied the same name from Hollywood and tried to build an influence over the west. Similarly all woods came into picture. With internet and COVID many were exposed to South cinema and eastern cinema too, the cinegoers are liking the songs and concepts and entertainment, the language is not a barrier any more

RRR is a Telugu film remade in many languages, yes at its core it is an Indian film.

The name Bollywood should be done away with and it should be Indian cinema for all industries to work together and make great movies

Most of India is celebrating the success of the song irrespective of where they are.

However the Bollywood movie clique of stars and filmmakers are quite unhappy as they have not had the success and some overactive pr are using Twitter for the same . Plus since election times this will get picked up and politicians will take it up

Best to ignore, celebrate the success of the film and move on

Kantara is definitely a better film, but RRR releasing in Netflix plus the campaigning has been done with a lot of money thrown in.

Kantara does not have that edge

Also guys it's TELUGU not TELEGU.

I know it's not a big deal but it bugs me to no end because alot of people write it that way.
