Amd redemption bhi ni hota h unka, na koi guilt trip, ulta whitewasg kra jata h or 2 weeks k baad vo fir koi kand kr dete h.

Why couldn't the writers make Khera fully negative? Mrunal Jain did a fantastic job in Uttaran. He is known to execute such characters with the utmost ease.

I hardly post on here but was interested in what you said in bold🙂.

When I talk to my relatives/friends over in India and those over here from there they have never conveyed what you said in bold. Yes there are lots of general relationship related issues but that is everywhere however no one has told me of bigamy, Virat like cases.

So what happens in these serials, to the extreme extent that things happen like in Imlie, Ghum etc, happens for real??

Now, if what you have said in bold is the case, why on earth would people want to watch all that on TV or whatever platform people watch on? Surely people watch such programs to escape or to learn not to see your own 99 problems portrayed on the screen.

When I talk to relatives/friends based here who used to watch these serials they say they used to like watching them when serials first started showing over here but of late find them all too regressive and it’s all rinse and repeat making it super stressful to watch extreme negativity on a daily basis so are switching off. Are these serials then only directed at a certain type of audience? If they show something different (that maybe more international audiences prefer/wish to see like Abhi type characters or progressive stories) TRP drops as those outside India don’t contribute to it?

My curiosity making me ask these questions☺️.

We are population of 1.3 B + so yes there are huge percentage of people similar to your relatives. I am not denying.

I have to work with social workers and NGOs dealing in abuse therefore come in contact with people having different shades.

My base is more to do with lower strata of society where physical, mental abuse is common among families. The root cause is money or the upbringing.

Yes many viewers relate to Anupama, Imlie or Sai Joshi because somewhere down the line the woman managing the household can't voice out their opinion, there are multiple issues with out any solutions for ex some men are alcoholics or carry affairs on the sly, family members do not acknowledge cracks in a marriage etc.

Yeah bigamy does exist big time. We need to dig deep

In Mumbai many of the cable subscribers live in chawls and small shanties. My maid is huge fan of Ak Maheshwari but could not connect after Hina's exit.

These subset of woman have shifted to the 10 pm show because of what Anupama is doing on TV. There is a innate satisfaction when their screen idols face the world.
