Culture comes from history, right?

There used to be extremely bold Malayalam movies in the 70s and 80s by top directors and it was taken in an artistic way and not to get audiences to watch it. Those movies used to show raw emotions of people and some of them are all time classics. If i am not wrong then Bengali movies were also quite bold.

Indian movies are not restricted to just Bollywood movies. Even with Bollywood movies, actors like zeenath Aman used to do extremely bold scenes in commercial movies in the 70s and 80s. Her clothes from satyam shivam sundaram is still way bolder than what Bollywood actresses wear nowadays and that movie was a commercial and critical hit.

I agree. I didn't know about Malayali and Bengali movies. Thanks for telling me. I watched SSS and it was bold.. but it hasn't much steamy scenes between leads. The wave of bold kissing scenes in Bollywood started only after 2000. Ppl weren't happy with it initially.. but then they got used to it. Now they destroied my idea of romance in Indian movies completely.. it became more of a time pass.😒

Thank you 🤧 and happy Sunday 🌻 I don't like to cook, I don't even know how to cook. I get scared when I turn on the stove. My husband loves the food his mom makes for him and he loves the cakes and cookies I make for him

I don't think Bollywood even makes romantic movies any more. The only movie i think that did well and can be called an out an out romantic movie is aashique 2 which released almost a decade ago. Even srk stopped doing romance.

Bollywood movies used to normalise sexist comments and degrading women and if people can accept that then two characters kissing each other with concent shouldn't be a problem. Expression of love is always better than expression of sexism, degrading an entire gender, promoting toxic masculinity etc. At least bwood is moving away from all that.

The phase of Bollywood romantic movies are over like the phase of hollywood rom-coms got over after the early 2000s. Every industry goes thrown different phases and 90s and early 2000s where the romantic movie phase of Bollywood with srk as the poster boy for romance and love. That era is gone.

Kdramas are filling that gap now. Even Korean movies at the start used to make rom-coms only and most of the classic 2000s Korean movies are rom-coms but now it's different. It's mostly slice of life thought provoking movies.

Also dressing bold is part of Indian culture. Look at the art works at temples that are more than 100yrs old. The concept of blouse came after the British and in a lot of Indian cultures women used to wear sarees and traditional clothes without a blouse. It's the British that sexualized indian traditional clothing and women's body and deemed it inappropriate because it was against their culture and religion.

Saying the west influenced our culture and made it bold is an irony considering we have sex temples that are centuries old and wrote Kamasutra.

Therez a difference. Earlier only the vamps were doing seductive roles , only few films were bold, made on bold subjects in all languages ..Zeenat Aman was perhaps the first heroine who set a trend ..following her , there were plenty of heroines who did it..in the 80s.....now it's the mainstream cinema which is way ahead of those times... the web shows r full of sex violence and politics , none of it which I enjoy so I keep distance.

Yes I will stick to my point that west and a lot more factors influenced our culture. Last 1000 years we had hundreds or invaders and all those who came to India brought something with them , added something to our culture . I never said we r unknown to sex . Obviously it's a basic human instinct. It is integral to our life . However there is a reason people are not doing it on streets like animals. That's bec importance was given to aesthetic of life too. That's why marriage system was invented.

On screen , I know there is a huge audience of p films in india paki and south Asian countries. For those who enjoy it fine. Don't rub it on somebody's face who doesn't enjoy it. Cinema and other media are creative fields ..if they need only sex to sell their product , they better venture into p*. Whether or not an actor chooses to do it is.purely his choice . Whether or not we watch it is our choice.

The FL also used to do bold roles. Earlier only few movies used to be made over all unlike now where every Friday atleast one movie gets released. Zeenat Aman, sharmila tagore, Parveen bhahi all used to do bold roles and that too as leading ladies and not vamps. Same with a lot of leading Malayalam movie actresses.

All kind of genres come on indian webseries and not just on violence, sex and politics. Tvf rarely makes series on violence, sex or politics and they make a lot of webseries like Kota factory, panchayat, immature, tripling etc. If Netflix has sacred games then it also has mismatch which is a rom-com. I watched raveena tandon's Netflix series and it didn't had any bold scenes. Same with never kiss your best friend, ranjeev-divyanka webseries and many more which are light hearted and love stories. I rarely watch India webseries but when i decide to watch there are plenty of choices other than dark ones.

Webseries and movies come with censorship certificate. They clearly show the age restriction tag. Even the Hollywood ones come with warning. It's totally upto the audience to watch it or not. They are not rubbing anything on anyone's face. Everyone has the complete freedom to watch what they want to watch.

If we stop over sexualizing women's body then half of the things we think as bold and vulgar will look normal. Kissing on the lips is way less sensual than kissing on the neck or other parts like how 90s and 2000s movies used to show. 90s and 2000s bwood movies used to sexualize women more than anything with extreme sexist dialogues and toxic masculinity.

Not just romantic movies, even family dramas are rare nowadays. Those slice of life thought provoking movies are fine, but why should they have a love making scene? Only coz it is a part of life, or for entertainment? And how can showing almost everything be less bold than expression of sexism?😕 I watched almost all the Indian movies with my family.. never once I felt shy.. yes, some dancing under the rain scenes where bold, but overall those movies were family entertainers.. I don't think we are doing any good by normalising bold scenes..

Wow. You like making cakes? Me too.

Don't worry, you'll learn cooking from your mom in law ..and one day you'll find that you are used to cooking .

For me cooking time must not go beyond 30 mins, warna I start losing my 🤪mind
