How do you justify Hina's presence at Cannes for a movie that she's done, which let's be honest, hardly registered with the audience when there are other authentically talented film makers/actors/artists who have not had visibility from regional cinema or even BW? People with genuine talent and rigour for films are starved for a chance to showcase their work at a stage like film festivals. How is asking for a fair chance for other artists to showcase their work elitist? I'm beginning to wonder if people on this thread don't know what that word means. While you're at it, check my second reply on this thread where I have asked for the criteria to be selected/have their movie screened.

Are you really telling me Hina's spectacular movie got her entry into Cannes and it was not her PR and lobbying? Name one movie that she's done without the help of google. Also, don't spin this off into Sonam being invited for her brand affiliations. That's a logical fallacy if I ever saw one. Sonam has had a long standing association with L'Oreal. She is well deserved to be called to an international platform. She's promoting the brand not brandishing her mediocre cinema.

You are contradicting yourself all over here.

You were looking down on Hina and Helly coz they are lesser known and are from TV. You said Cannes has gone down. I asked how? And the meltdown started coz well the elite attitude got caught. 😆

If the criteria is invitation, anybody can go. Simple as that.
