Part 1. The proposal
Virat is restless waiting to get a glimpse of his wife since the morning. No one seemed to care where she is gone. The family members of his could be heartless, no doubts there but his friend and ardent devotee of Sai, Sunny also seemed to behave oblivious to her absence. He did not even push him to go and fetch her. That gave him some strange respite that everything will be fine. She spearheaded the wedding of his youngest aunt, so she might have gone to make some arrangements afterall, he convinced himself.
He swiftly got ready in the sherwani his wife selected for him. He looked dapper and pleased with himself when he looked into the mirror. A faint smile danced on his lips knowing his wife's choice of clothing suits him the best. She knows it all! He praised his wife under the breath. I wish she appears in front me like magic, out of nowhere and I will make sure she will not leave me ever! nor I will let her go past my view. The dark clouds of anger and fear have clouded him till the warmth of her light shedded them away. All he wanted now is to talk to her, talk why he behaved the way he did. Why he had to hurt her and most importantly to apologize her for the hurt he unknowingly caused her.
The way she held on to their photo frame while she slept, the way she pleaded him not to leave her alone, the earnestness in showing that she indeed want to stay with him reappeared to him, clearly speaking volumes of her feelings. He wanted to ask her about all these changes, why now? His phone rang with a call from his sub officer Kadam. He tracked her phone to the last location within the city under 10 kilometers from their house. Praying to Bappa for her safe return and mentally making notes on his next steps to reach her, he walked towards the Mandap that is decorated beautifully for his Aunt's wedding.
One more hour is past and he decided to go out and search for her. All the family members gathered outside to receive the bridegroom. The Nasik Dhol along with Shehnayi made the mood boisterous. His cousins insensitively pulled him into impromptu dance which is now getting on his nerves. Do they even know what is happening? Sai is not here!! And they are dancing?!. He excused himself from their utter lack of concern which surprised him with no bounds. His hands started to go numb and he loosened the buttons around the neck to ease his breathing. He turned back to get his car when even louder music started playing.
There she comes bringing the Barat for his aunt accompanying Rajeevji, his would be Uncle. Standing in the topless decorated car, next to her first patient, one eye always on him but heart filled with joy dancing slowly with him, clearly out of sync with the thumping sounds surrounding.
His heart heaved a huge relief. What did I think! After all she did not leave the side of the person who closely met with death the previous day. His wife, the doctor first, made sure the bridegroom is brought safe and sound into the wedding venue. Suddenly his feet took the beat and started dancing, eyes not leaving hers as they made a contact with hers. He knew then what he had to do.
Virat ran towards the car into the out stretching arms already beckoning him. He did not mind the crowd, half of them who would have come only to evaluate how the members of the lofty Chavan clan will behave. He did not care whether his Kaku, the matriarch who sets the rules of propriety in their family will reprimand him later. It did not occur to him that he is one esteemed Police officer whose superiors might be present in the crowd. He just wanted to be the guy who wants to carry the girl of his dreams into his hands.
Sai dropped herself from the car into the hands of her husband. He lifted her up from car as she interlaced her hands around his neck hugging him tight.
"Sai! I love you", Virat said not wasting a moment. "Dont ever leave me!"
"I love you, I love you...Virat Sir", she said choking on her words and squeezing him tighter. "I love you".
Virat could not hold his joy that trickled down into tears. "Where did you go?", he asked taking her face into his hands.
"I went to pick up Rajeev ji. You know he still needs the care. Why? What do you think?", she asked rather curiously to know whether he still thought she would leave him.
Virat nodded sideways denying first but then nodded straight agreeing with his fears. "I thought I delayed it again", he said now meeting her forehead with his.
"I will never leave you again Virat sir. never ever.", she said gently stroking his jaws on either side. "Even if you had left, I would have come after you. I cannot live without you.", she cried hugging him tightly.
Unlike he expected, on one in the crowd is paying attention to them. Their relationship is such, a regular wife and husband who could not get over each other. It is so simple but they both made it so complicated, Virat thought looking around to see whether they made a spectacle in front of the attendees.
When they broke their hug, everyone was busy inviting Rajeev with traditional fervor. He saw his mother welcoming the bridegroom along with his cousins. He caught the eye of Sunny who was giving him double thumbs up before joining the retreating crowd into their house.
Virat softly brushed his wife's hair with his fingers as she rubbed her watery nose into his spotless sherwani. He lifted her head slowly and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"I am sorry Sai to punish you like this. I was hurt and broken. I had no hope that we would get back together and survive. I gave up on us", he said hugging her back.
"It is my turn to play you Virat sir. How long will you fight alone for us? So I took your duty?", she said cheerfully. "Oops", she covered up her last words winking at him.
Virat let out a rather deprecating smile for himself. "My duty which tested both of us. I am so sorry Sai. I was not seeing you as I should have.", he said stroking her cheek."I endangered your life. What if something had happened on that night when Sada kidnapped you.", he said worry spreading across his eyes suddenly.
"I am glad it happened that way Virat sir. I was also blinded till then with my beliefs. If not for that night I would not have realized your innocence.", Sai said hugging him back again. "I am so sorry I spoke all those harsh words. I was scared that I lost you to another woman", she said rubbing his back.
"That is the last thing you should worry about me Sai Joshi. I loved you, and will love only you. I am locked for this life and next lives. I dont want anyone but you.", Virat said joyfully, lifting her up and circling which made her giggle loudly.
Virat slowly dropped Sai, her body rubbing his as she descended the non existent height. Virat made sure the pace is just right! Redness peeped into her cheeks as the intimacy made its marks at right places. She dropped her eyes for the first time in front of him and it swelled his chest. He lifted her chin up, his hand around her waist pushed her even closer and the slight touch at her tip of the nose with his widened her eyes as she met his. They knew what they had to do. Seal this moment with the kiss that waited for so long.
Sai took the first step knowing that her husband would not initiate anything without her permission. She touched his lips first with hers, then peppered with few soft ones unable to stop. Virat is caught by surprise but before the effect reached his brain, he was already hardening the kisses with increased fervor. He was about to enter her mouth when Sai backed off.
"Virat Sir, we are still outside.", she said catching her breath and placing a soft kiss conveying her intention to continue but for the place.
"Yes lets go to our room", Virat said dragging her by the hand.
"Virat Sir! wait. I want to ask you something", Sai stopped him.
"Ok tell me soon.", Virat said kissing her again. "Let us talk in our room.", he said rather not willing to listen and pulling her agian.
"Virat Sir! ", Sai shrieked. "Will you marry me? again?", she said stopping him abruptly.
"What?", Virat smiled in disbelief but immediately comprehended her intention. "But why now?", he asked knowing the answer fully.
"It is not necessary. I respect our marriage. But I want to be present this time when I make all those vows again with you.", she said letting him know that the decision he took on their behalf nearly 2 years back is still cherished by her.
"Whatever you want Sai.", Virat said heartfuly, as he also wanted to give the vows not in obligation but with love. "Does it mean we cannot kiss now?", he asked rather ruefully.
"Yes!" Sai said playfully going for another kiss on his lips. "Lets get married right now. Everything is set, isnt it?".

NOTE: I hope they make the confession equal sided. Both are at the same plane. Both are on the verge to confess. So let it happen in a way that both have to confess. Going against all my previous confession plots, I made Virat say the 3 words first! I hope people will be happy with this.
