SuperStar Singer - How is it run?

While we wait for SS2 to start, here is a quick recap of how SS1 was operated. There is no guarantee that SS2 will follow this path, but usually one expects that the basic framework will remain the same.
Here goes:
Judges: 3
Captains: 4
Contestants: 16.
Episodes: 30
Audition rounds: 6
Performances can be solo, duet, triplet or Captain + Contestant, or entire team. This is decided by Captain.
Medals are given to deserving contestants. They act as protection against elimination. Contestants with greater collection of medals are automatically safe and are not considered for elimination.
Not necessary that everyone sings every week after Grand Premiere.
Initial elimination: Based on Judge's scores
1st Double elimination: Episode 14.
Double eliminations thereafter at intervals depending on how long they want to stretch the show.
Episode 23: Voting lines open for Top 10. Eliminations thereafter are based on Judge's scores and votes. Basically, Judge's send 3 to the bottom and the one with the least votes gets eliminated.
As a result of the system followed, the Captains are left with differing numbers of contestants. One was even left without any for the final rounds last time! (they will want to avoid this situation this year)
Episode 27: Final cut based on votes and marks.
Finale: Winner is based only on Public Voting

Both Kanjilals sing Ek Radha Ek Meera with complete devotion. And sound soulful even without music.

Liked the voice of that boy in school uniform.
