Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, the 39th direct descendant of India's Gohil Rajput dynasty, knew he was gay at age 12. But he could only live his truth three decades later.

Gohil publicly came out in an interview to a local newspaper in 2006, becoming the first openly gay royal in the country. He was 41 at the time.

After reading the article i feel a bit sad. No-one should go through such things. His story NEEDS to be told and I hope a powerful film is made on it that can encourage people to think about this issue seriously. I wish him all the best 👍🏼

I agree there should be more representation for LGBTQ community

Not just representation but acceptance also.

If nothing else then we should just let them be if they are not encroaching our own right to live (which is definitely not the case as all they want is to be treated like normal humans. Which shouldn't be too difficult for us).

Yeah. I agree. We as a society have a long way to go. I hope someday maybe if not everyone most will realise that love is beautiful and every individual should have have right to be with whoever they want

Acceptance and respect should come before "jokes". Any sane human will have problem with someone using another person sexuality just to mock them

I would say more power to the prince and more power to LGBTQ community 👏
