I completely agree with you. It has always bothered me too. ITV makes such a huge deal out of adoption, and it is quite frankly a really low blow type of insult. Adopted kids and biological kids are no different. Kids are kids. But, ITV makes it seem as if adopted kids are less than, and I have a serious problem with that. But, then again, so much of ITV is super problematic, so that is just a given at this point.
I think that Abhi finding out after so many years will deeply impact him because the truth was kept from him. That will be the biggest shock more than anything else. It may destroy his trust in Manjari and it will change his perception of his identity. I think finding something like this out can be a life changing experience at any point in life. My cousin did not know that she was adopted until she was 23, and it led to a deep strain in her relationship with her adoptive parents.
I agree getting to know suddenly would shock you a bit but i dont get why it strained her relationship with her adoptive parents? She should thank them for a beautiful life.
