You are right! But what I meant was inspite of him saying to BK he won’t pursue I felt he was still holding on to thought that Sai will understand and hence the night scene during injection.
Virat and Sai say lot of things in their hurt and anger with zest but their hearts really have something else! Mind Vs heart dilemma. Essentially after all that he just didn’t anticipate Divorce, is what I meant.

Realistically that’s what happens between husband and wife…. Sometimes we are just so out of our minds we say or blurt out things we don’t actually want to happen.

Even in current track I have a feeling he is loving that he is getting all the attention from Sai. He could have asked Sai to leave the house and his life coz he is SO broken! BUT he hasnt !!!! are his harsh words towards Sai justified - no! That’s why I am glad they showed Sai’s breakdown too infront of Aaba. Then Devi tai scene!
I also feel somewhere Virat wants Sai to hold off his transfer but abhi pura gussa utrah nahi hai.

True. And V also has this complex. He wants to be the most important person in Sai's life. Which he is. But Sai's actions sometimes shows otherwise. And his accusations and vent outs reflect that. Like he told Sunny, she can fight the whole world for Shivani but deserted him. He knows what she is capable of. Selfless Love. She can go to any length for the people she loves. And he craves that. He is jealous of his own family that he they appear to be more important and she does so much for them, while she does not treat him the same way or feel for him with that intensity. In fact he wants him to be above any and every one of them.

- oh manh. Where & when did this scene happened? I haven't seen it. What did you think his facial expressions & body language or tone in that sequence? This doesn't sound nice. Was it exactly same as he did for Sai? He was pretty close to Sai when he did that if i remember correctly especially the second accident I think he was on her bed I think. First accident ka thoda sa yaad nehi.

Yes exactly.. the cultures are very different.. Rono is from old Calcutta .. it is not like he never had a female friend… but he was also remote could not connect to any of his family.members .

Virat they have made a lot friendlier.. he respects Kaku and kowtows to her .. Rono used to not give ghass to any of his family members … I hope they maintain this aloof virat from now on .. because again making him super friendly and then bring intense tracks is jarring ..

I know we get all sorts of crazy scenes in ITV with the third angle....but Ghum should not be written carelessly like these shows - its a cardinal sin. Ghum is supposed to be more realistic...where each and every nuance in plot, every single gesture, behaviour of characters, every little dialogue means something. So you need to be careful of what comes across to the audience....KD maintained that nuance and sensitivity. But Vanku just loves his cringe.

Exactly. He just repeats same type of scenes with both FL & 3rd angles.

see the problem with ghum is that it’s a story written by a Bengali writer .. the character of virat ( Rono ) is of a Bhadrolok .. a character very much seen in older Bengali films .. .. someone who is expected to have platonic relationships with women friends .. it used to happen in Kolkata .. and was believable.. Rishi Kaushik has seen it so could imbibe it .. I am not sure it would fit into marathi manoos virat 😂

See it was believable that RK and Rono could be friends .. Kolkata society is very very cosmopolitan.. and we do see it quite often .. but somehow pakhi and virat could never give the vibe of wanting a platonic relationship

Haven’t we seen it in so many Tagore movies .. nashteneer .. where a married woman has a close male pal with whom she has a platonic relationship..

I suddenly get your point about Rishi Kaushik.

I know a bhadralok gentleman quite closely. And he is what people would generally call flirt. As in he compliments women easily, is nice to them but yes never crossing the limits.

And yes in that context, a Marathi manus like V will not work like that. Men, generally of a particular age group do not talk freely to women even if they are related and maintain a significant distance. It's a cultural sort of thing.

For example, my FIL would in initial days would not speak directly to me.. would ask through my husband. Neither would my father be talking to his DIL. In such case, physical touch would be a complete odd happening.

But as a Maharashtrian, I chose to ignore this because many aspects of ghum are not of Marathi culture. It's just a trope they use. There is nothing that screams Marathi for me in Chavans.

Only good thing is ghum hasn't typecasted Chavans as poor, service class, naukarani kind of family the way Bollywood does. 🤣
