Why should someone want to be willing to leave their job or social life to have a child?

And if they don't want to have a child and seek an abortion, what is wrong with that?

And if they feel ready for a child later in life and spend money on artificial insemination or surrogacy what is wrong with that?*

* I do believe adoption is ideal. But there are many barriers and challenges to adoption. Adoption has been made bureaucratic, expensive, and complicated. If you are not a citizen then there are more hoops to jump through for adoption. If you are single or same-sex then even if it is legal, there are barriers in place.

A same-sex couple I know wanted to be foster parents. The fostering agency insisted they go through counseling with a therapist. This therapist, also a pastor, believed in traditional male/female roles in parenting and started probing on who would be the mother-type and father-type and refused to accept how they planned to share duties. When they asked to choose a different therapist - they were rejected. So eventually, they chose to get artificial insemination.

I'm not anti- marrying/having kids young at all if the two people are ready and fit for it, but this is just totally untrue.

Yes, the risk for problems is raised as the mother's age increases but the majority of children born to mid 30s - early 40s moms are perfectly fine.

Also having kids at that age isn't some new thing lol, it was super normal back in the day to be having kids well into your 30s or even 40s. The only difference between then and now in this aspect is that the women now are more likely to be having their first or second child at that later age, while back then it was more likely to be their fifth, sixth, or more.
