But what I do not understand is why he has a different approach to his ex and her ex. What makes him think that he can behave friendly with his ex but not hers.
People might argue that Neeraj is not a nice person where as Vedika is good towards Ram etc. But here the question is not about ex being good or bad. Its about one moral value for Ram and another for Priya.
Why is that women are always questioned on such grounds. Why should Ram be left off so easily. Moral values should be the same for all .
His approach is different bcz neeraj has always openly insulted priya and tried to humiliate priya. Ram has never questioned priya's integrity, character or even asked about her relationship history with neeraj.
He even never believed vedika or nandini when they told him priya still loves neeraj. He understands that it was priya's past and she is entitled to have one. When everyone in his family was against priya on their engagement it was ram who said Priya is innocent in all this.
His behaviour towards neeraj is not for jealousy only but bcz he feels protective towards priya. He doesn't trust neeraj and he knows neeraj has bad intentions.
And neeraj has proved this again and again. Infact in yesterday's episode forget priya he was demeaning to maitreyi as well in front of everyone. And that is Ram's problem with neeraj. Ram can see that neeraj never leaves a chance to remind priya that he had dumped her, to try hurt her. And he doesn't want priya to get hurt by neeraj or anyone. He has seen how neeraj affects her peace.
Whereas he is just beginning to see the true face of vedika. She has been very smart with her actions and words in front of everyone. She never directly attacks priya bcz once she tried in the hotel and ram warned her off. Vedika has always used shivina as a sheild for her actions and everyone always let it go thinking her intentions weren't bad even though actions were wrong.
But now he is starting to realise that vedika is not completely genuine. He has started to doubt her but he still can't put his finger on what vedika is trying to do. He had chalked all her slips as regret and pain over shashi. Vedika has portrayed herself as victim whereas neeraj tries to make Priya his victim.
But once he will see that vedika is another neeraj his attitude will change towards her too.
I understand that both ex-es are being treated differently but it has nothing to do with gender but situation and person.
Neeraj is outright vile and disgusting. He never tried to portray himself as a well-wisher. He doesn't have that manipulative bone in him. He can only manipulate maitreyi. Whereas vedika has been manipulating ram for a very long time and as i said that bubble has started to crack but will take some time to completely shatter.
