As the saying goes God helps those who help themselves. Here KP left and did not fight for their rights to stay in their homeland. Why did the subsequent governments did not help them for past 30 years

I know am going to get brick bats or will be ignored why because no one wants to think differently only want to go with their linear vision.

What? Why don’t you say the same thing for the muslim’s that you were so concerned about in every post of yours? Let’s just all look the other way since God will help those who will help themselves. Let’s not cry in shrill voices about the Palestine for example. Let’s not cry for the rape victims henceforth because obviously they couldn’t help themselves and so they perished. Heck, let’s disregard every victim of every atrocity because they didn’t obviously help themselves. Seriously, this is the most insensitive thing I read on this forum by far!

@Red: Wonder why you don’t apply this to the Muslim community that is getting battered everywhere. It must be because they are refusing to help themselves, no?

Just came home from watching Kashmir Files at the cinemas. I’m assuming everyone in this thread has watched the film already so I’m not going to put a spoiler tag ahead. I’m sorry for the essay.

I went to the movies on my own to watch Kashmir Files, as I wanted to experience it without any distractions. I went inside the cinema hall oblivious and came out completely traumatised. Not even 15 minutes into the film and I had already closed my eyes, tears streaming. To witness such barbaric brutality, to experience such an abuse of humanity, makes you feel physically uncomfortable to even stay seated in your chair. You feel like a bystander, trapped in your skin, completely worthless, completely powerless. All you can do is sit and watch as horror after horror unfolds right before your eyes.

Leading to the end, I thought I’d seen the worst of it, but I was wrong. The last 10 minutes of the film leaves you with an image so horrifying, an image so distressing, I couldn’t even close my eyes fast enough to block out the horror. The movie finished with pin drop silence. I felt like I was walking out in a daze, I don’t even know how I got home. I’m still crying while typing this review. If this is how I’m feeling, then I can’t even imagine the pain felt by all the victims of this genocide.

I told my mum and sister to go watch the film. This may not be a perfectly executed movie but the emotions are real and it leaves you feeling raw. My heart goes out to the Kashmiri Pandits. I pray that this film and the awareness it’s raised will become a semblance for hope in the future. I wish with all of my heart that the beginning of these baby steps will pave a way for them to find their way back home.

From one human to another, I’m so sorry you had to go through this.

Excuse me?! Excuse me?! what? Do people not think at all before typing? Victim shaming is THE WORST THING ONE CAN DO. Next what? You will blame holocaust victims for what was done to them by germans? I mean I am sure it was Anne Frank s fault and that is why she died a horrible death. I am sure its always rape/acid attack victims' fault.

I lose faith in humanity with every passing day.

This review feels like it came straight from the heart. I could literally feel the emotions...

Btw I'm one of the very few who might have still not watched the movie yet. I was supposed to go with a few other friends after Holi but that didn't materialize for some reasons. So I have booked my ticket for tomorrow and I'm going alone which I think is better as I would be mostly silent throughout the movie going by its trailer and reviews...

I wish I was good with words and writing like some of the others here but still I will write what I feel about the movie tomorrow.

I have said this before and I will say it again If you cannot bring yourself to feel even a bit of sympathy for innocent people who were slaughtered/raped/driven out of their home lest you can do is not talk about it all. Victim shaming is the worst thing you can do

I get your dislike for Modi BI. But please don't let that cloud your judgment. The movie is about the Kashmir pandit exodus and these people deserve as much support as they can get of course ordinary civilians can't do much for them. Hell nobody can ever do enough for all these people. We can never be sorry enough. But at least we can try. Try to be empathetic, try to understand what they went through, Try to lend our support

There were no intervals/intermissions for me. It was just non-stop horror after horror.

My review came with a lot of tears. It’s been 2 hours since the film has finished and I’m staring into space, tears streaming non stop. This is what the film does to you. I strongly recommend watching it alone. I’m so glad I did.

Sending strength your way. Tomorrow is going to be rough. ❤️
