@arivarshi so overall I have mixed thoughts about BI. I don’t know whether to root for a relationship with so much sexism (even with superb redemption) and yet, it’s also a show that did not firstly start off or claim that the ML was ever respectful and secondly, the writing calls him out for it, the FL also does call him out. But I really like how it was all very honest- the characters and writing are honest and not trying to be what they aren’t. I think Anjol/writing here directly lacked the same, they keep whitewashing our leads here as strong, and progressive and mature, even when they were actually doing some very questionable things. They could’ve either been honest about their characters’ flaws or just been consistent about how great they are. Nevertheless, I think I enjoyed Anjol because I kept hoping whatever their characters were promised to be would show soon, and last three weeks that’s happened, albeit too late

I agree with you the leads characters were butchered and so was Chandana but now everyone is supposed to forget the past and move on and accept that there was no inconsistency. But last few episodes have been good although rushed. My hopes of a stalker free wedding is lost completely because of the recent BTS shared by the cast where it seems that the Stalker sets Kajol up. And the Enabler Mommy can also be seen. But the wedding is happening and we are not left with just a simple happy ending with the marriage happening in the realm of possibility post the end.
And about the scene, where Kajol stands up against the Psycho Stalker, I think even though Anurag has now finally mentioned blackmail, I think Kajol still isn't shown to have clearly understood his meaning. But I am still enjoying the episodes because we are finally getting a resolution. I really liked her approach and I still get that she tries to see the best in people and is forgiving to an extent. And when she says that you will be treated as a friend only if you behave normally and also gives her the nasihat/advice to move on was on point. It showed a really realistic and empathetic person. Anurag too, his approach towards Priyanka with him going on the offensive was perfectly reminiscent of the no nonsense Anurag of the beginning. If only the Haridwar track had not happened, I would have loved the recent episodes more.
Anurag and Kajol were two well written character sketches who were then ruined at the altar of Colors whims and fancies dependent on the need for high TRPs. Sadly if they had stuck to the original story and plot, they would have been able to garner more TRP through the saner chunk of audiences because YRKKH right now is just a caricature show being carried by the star power of Harshad Chopda. And it's memes are proof of that.

About BI yes I too have a problem with Zain's actions. I have had alternative endings in mind where Aaliya actually moved on and Zain had to live with the consequences of his actions.
But the reason I loved the show was because he was shown to be those things, he was not made into a hero who could do no wrong like Virat or Fateh and to some extent Anurag too. Zain was human and selfish. He divorces Aaliya and treats her so cruelly and then as soon as he finds the truth he wants a second chance and expects her to forgive him. It reeked of male privilege.
Aaliya too forgives him as her love does border on obsessive, because for Zain she even distrusts and mistreats Rehaan (who was butchered to make Zain look more worthy of Aaliya than him and also due to fan demand) who stood by her throughout her ordeal. Aaliya's desire to be with Zain is the thing that makes her human with human foibles.
They changed, I think a lot of the plot because of TRP loss due to the Talaak track and rushed through the whole halala track too.
I believe and this is my perspective solely that that whole year and the redemption and Halala actually taught Zain of his own sexist nature and that all actions have consequences and in light of his lesson in humility, his respect and trust for Aaliya did increase. He acknowledged that what he had done was because he was an entitled ass.
And In the dialogues he also did acknowledge that Aaliya loved him more than he loved her. He understood his failings and Aaliya was shown to accept him as that flawed man whom she loved. Because she realised that whoever or whatever he was, he still was the one she wanted and was the source of her happiness. And the second chance to him was as much for her as for him. Because she could hold on to her anger and be unhappy all her life or be happy by forgiving him. She chose her own happiness as much as his.
In real life that kind of forgiveness in my eyes would be abhorrent because they would have to face a proper Halala but many women do forgive.
I cannot just romanticize them and ignore the shortcomings. But I still find the show beautifully written and trying to deal with the problems and reality of that situation.
