Dekha Tujhe Toh Lagaa is out on audio streaming platforms now. My first impressions:
1. HR continues to make their voices metallic rather than natural. I just don't understand why.
2. This is Arunita's song with Pawandeep being basically the Tabalchi and having a few lines. Have to acknowledge his willingness / ability to cede center stage to others without ego - we have seen that in the concerts too.
3. Both have sung their parts very well, as can be expected from them.
4. The lyrics are full of repetition - again, as can be expected by now from HR who is not a lyricist or poet by any stretch of the imagination.
5. HR doesn't seem to have been able or willing to use the full tabla playing capabilities of Pawandeep - everything sounds pretty simplistic. The video will tell us more.
All in all, I would say a rating of 6 to 7 out of 10, all of those points being for Arunita and Pawandeep and nothing for HR.

I liked the beginning aalap by Arunita. I am glad that HR gave more vocals to Arunita. It was long due that she got to sing equal or more lines in the duet.
The last couple duets had more of PD. I don't see why PD would have any ego to concede to anyone taking center stage especially Arunita. She was an equal contender to the Indian Idol title and one of the finest female voices currently.
I heard the song only once and it's not a catchy tune. May be I have to see the video to see if I like it. Frankly the Octopus songs are better than HR ones. I wish Octopus would let them sing and not insist on making them act in the video. They can take professional actors and then just have glimpses of the real singers in the video if they want to bank on the Arudeep craze and even the individual PD and Aru fans,

Bold 1: I agree she has done a great job. This is not an easy composition to sing but she has carried it off very well. In terms of relative air time I believe only the first HR song Tere Bagairr had a lop-sided distribution where it almost seemed as if Arunita's lines were added as an afterthought. But then I have always felt that these things depend on the song and the situation visualised around the song. So there will be songs like this one where the female vocals are more.
Bold 2 : Personally, I agree but how often have we seen artists have egos and insecurities. Even the greats have had them - the internet is full of their stories. In that sense, it is always nice to see incidents where there is no ego coming in the way.
Bold 3: I agree here too. Composition, arrangements, lyrics - all were superior in those four songs (2 x 2) compared to HR.
So on watching the video, it appears that there is a lot going on with the Tabla but it is the sound-mixing that seems to have toned down the tabla to somehow make it less audible on the audio.

True. After I watched the video, I liked the song better than the first time I listened to it on JioSaavn

I still feel Tere bagairr was supposed to be Pawan's solo at very early stage and Aru's lines were added after seeing Arudeep's popularity in Idol.
Many people feel Aru had lesser lines in Octopus songs..but her presence in the videos was full fledged..fans would be disappointed with audio but viewers would be satisfied with video in Manzoor Dil..Her fans didn't connect with Fursat which is understandable.
Here Pawan has less lines but he is playing Tabla throughout..both don't seem to mind.
Octopus songs were better..completely agree..lot of efforts gone into planning n execution and it showed..don't know what went wrong but sad that we won't see more songs from both in this project.

Saw the video and liked the Tabla..don't know how that sounded in audio.
HR should hire a good lyricist asap..if he wants to utilize whatever he has written at least get someone to tweak it n make it better😊

Yeah I think it is about the sound mixing. It is more visible than audible. Check out the IG link posted on the Arunita AT that has the raw footage of the shoot. The voice of Arunita and the tabla both are audible without any post production and both are awesome.
Chowki in Champawat District is Pawandeep's village / town.
