Digressing here but can anyone suggest anything good on ITV other than Anupamaa, BALH2 and Dhadkan Zindagii Kii going on currently??

I don't like this post just sharing it. The fact is the failure of this show is put on Kajol's Character when Anurag's character at this point of time feels more pathetic. A user and a loser.

His character has really gone downwards from amazing to ZERO

At least Kajol still has some of her character traits, but Anurag has lost it completely

To be honest, I dont feel bad at all for the makers, becoz they are the ones who have made it come to this point after 4,5 months

I feel bad for the actors to put up with the shit of the makers day in and day out....I so wished Ishita would quit this crap

Yup she should take a leaf out of Erica Fernandes's book and quit. They had to end KRPKAB 3 because she was quitting. It would be a dignified and justified exit.

Seriously.....Ishita is way too good an actress to put up with this lousy, shitty show.

First they made her character completely go weak to glorify their male lead....he had to be the one who saved her all the time.

A girl who singlehandedly ended her marriage with a cheater, who singlehandedly took charge of her family and family business suddenly needed to be saved by a man

And now when audience expect that same male lead to stand his ground and find a solution to this blackmailing shit, he turned into a complete loser and coward who now himself needs to be saved all in the bloody name of the so called Mahaanta bullshit 🤬🤬🤬🤬

To be honest... I would put the failure of this show on the way they’ve written Kajol’s character more than anything else

Anurag’s character has been butchered into being a pathetic loser, yes, but in my head this show was always about Kajol. Literally all their shitty tracks, the present one included, could have been salvaged had they shown her strength whenever she needed to use it (during character assassinations, this stalker wala plot etc). Even when Anurag’s character was at his best (around the time of her accident, or the pujo proposal), this story wasn’t actually worth it because the main point of this show (Kajol) was not showing the character that viewers expected her to. However, it would have always been worth watching if Kajol was shown gaining strength and smartness (remember how much fun that Naina wedding epi was?). So, for me, the failure of this show is largely due to the way they butchered her character because she’s what the show was supposed to be about, this show was never centered around Anurag.

Also that said I don’t know what she has been like since the last two weeks, I haven’t watched the episodes since that hospital hide and seek, so maybe I’m hopefully wrong

Now the show is about a stalker who is neither written nor enacted properly

btw @arivarshi Aaliya from BI seems to get this part quite right- she seems super steely so far

I agree completely that the butchering of Kajol's character is what killed this show for me as well because we were promised a Female centric show with a lead who seems to me would have been a mix of Anupama and Sai but what we got was a crybaby.

However my problem is with the fans of the show who find nothing wrong with Anurag's current track where they blindly say our hero will save the day, he will marry Kajol in the temple - does not happen and instead he acts whipped by the Stalker and the trend and tweets that come out are we want a stronger Kajol??

If the show does little better the fangirls glorify Anurag but if it is failing they bury the female lead Kajol. The recent TRP increase had been due to Anurag but now that it is his character's weakness that is causing the loss, it is still Kajol who should carry the burden of that failure.

The show has already jumped shark i.e. changed the plot completely and yes I too would love to see Kajol dealing with the Stalker and Naina as well. Because Naina too is about to brew trouble for Kajol again and soon. But as the show had changed direction and now it is more about pleasing the Anurag cheering squad and therefore about Anurag the saviour as you can see the recent track it is revolving around his love interest and needs. So then he must also take the blame for the failure to hold attention of the new fans that had started watching the show because of him.

But the most important reason for the failure is as you have pointed out and I am in total agreement to that, that the show has become completely about the Psycho Loony Stalker Priyanka and the rest are just side characters for now.

And on a side note @quickspicysauce Yes Aaliya has a core of steel which she gets from her faith and belief in Allah. Even when she is rendered helpless and cries she still does not lose that inner strength and will fight till the end even if it is a losing battle. During the Wedding and Bishu's death track I had high hopes of seeing Kajol do the same albeit guided by Bishu's principles. And we did see some of it in the beginning but then it was all lost to shoddy and below par writing.

Agreed very much. I think it’s not just this show but almost every ITV show and it’s like a fan girl syndrome where if there’s a good looking ML, that’s it, he just needs to breathe and they’ll all act like he’s the star of the show. It’s one reason I genuinely cannot connect to ITV and most male actors on ITV- because they are all conventionally good looking and most of their validation comes from being attractive (and I find a lot of male actors are not very good actors but are still tv superstars because of this culture). And yes that culture is manifesting itself here by glorifying anything Anurag does, he could just merely breathe and they’ll act like he’s an emperor (this is not to discredit KS’ acting though, which I think is excellent, thankfully)

Edit: So I haven’t followed the fan pages and even the actors’ Instagram profiles to be honest (although I’ve occasionally checked it out when there’s some BTS) and my main reason is this disenchantment I feel with ITV and this mindless glorifying of male leads. I also hate fan culture. Whilst I haven’t followed these pages, I totally get tha this show’s fan pages are more like Anurag fan pages, so yeah they probably should own up to his nonsense if they can glorify him for doing the least. So tired of how men (fictional and non fictional lol) get so much appreciation for doing the bare minimum in life

yes yes- I’m at the part with Aayat’s wedding issue- I don’t agree with Aaliya but I certainly admire her spine and the will to do what she thinks is right, even if her decision making is not the most sound. Really liking her character a lot, so spunky

You know what the funny thing is in all of this? That this show is still recognised as Ishita’s show. Still gets covered by the media as Ishita’s show. She is the one approached for all the interviews by most media personnel regarding most tracks. She is the only one tagged mostly by pages like India Forums etc. And she is the one the Production House sent a cake to for the 100 episodes. Talking about the one in red saree not the haldi one.

So the PH wants to use her star power but not give strength to her character. Because that is what they think gets trps? Because that is what is working for their best show Uddariyan? Colors like I said is a super weird channel and although Ishita is a Colors face, I hope she won’t work again with them in the future. I see the amount of disdain and abuse Tejo gets on SM and I thank God that Kajol has her self respect intact. She is not a pathetic looser in love crying over a weak man.

As for how Colors project their “heroes” I have already said enough on that. Their toxicity and weakness is percieved by impressionable young minds as “romantic” and that is where Colors fails in comparison to Star and Zee. I mean they even worship someone like Fateh lol. As for the fangirls of this show, it’s a very very small group with multiple pages on Insta. They are fooling no one. And also they seem pretty young. So I would not take them too seriously. Their constant lies about upcoming tracks are another testament to their age. And they are desperate for Ishita’s fandom’s support on their pages. And again the Anjol ko mila do chant by them constantly. I just can’t with fangirls.

At the end of the day it’s all about the story, not the actors or characters. Colors invested huge in getting Shivangi for BV2. And still the Trps of that show keep falling. So if you don’t have a good story, nothing can save a show. TSBTSP was doing amazing till Arjun Kajol’s marriage with consistently rising trps, but after that the writers tried to pull an Uddariyan 2.0 with first Noina and now the stalker and failed miserably. They should have just stuck to the original concept and seen for themselves how good this how would have done.

This show has one month left max. Two new shows on Colors have already started shooting. Counting the days till Ishita is free from this crap. Rest of the main cast I couldn’t care less about. Not after watching how they conduct themselves off screen. Couldn’t warm up to them. I treasure humility and security in a person but I have come to know that it’s a rare trait in ITV. A big reason why I follow Ishita and another reason why I stan Gaurav’s Anuj. Will miss the Mukerjee family off screen bond for sure.

Becoz Priyanka is wearing that same ugly thing 🤮🤮

Jeezzz who is the dress designer of this show ?? That person has no basic knowledge abt style.

Kajol should be freed from his grasp. He doesn't deserve her. I stopped shipping them completely post Haridwar. I will be honest I was never a really big fan of it anyway but that track was the last straw.

I also do have a problem with Kajol being so sacrificial that she accepts the breakup so easily without questioning it.

This whole storyline is problematic and flawed with Anurag becoming an opportunist post Haridwar where he takes advantage of Kajol's emotional vulnerability towards him he actually became very much like his namesake Anurag Basu from Kasauti Zindagi Kay 1 played by Cezanne, he too took advantage of Prerna though he was worse because he slept with her and then ditched her. Here he thank goodness did not cross that line though he did cross the line of human decency by not freeing Kajol from his influence instead wrapping her more in the threads of his love and her feelings towards him.

Arivarshi wouldn’t we just love a new hero for Kajol at this point. Unfortunately, the show is heading towards an end so no chance of that.

Like you, I have been very honest about not being convinced by the chemistry and comfort between Ishita and Karan even when the Anjol story was in its best phase. So now you can imagine how forced their scenes appear to me. Not to mention the shoddy writing, filmy dialogues and never ending dream sequences that kill the essence further. The present track has diminished whatever interest even some of the more ardent fans of this jodi had in the show. Except for the handful of fangirls on SM, the rest have stopped watching. If the show was just being watched for Anurag, then the present track should not have mattered right? Even these fangirls know this and thus keep chanting Anjol Anjol. They know viewers have dropped out and continue to do so. The evidence of dropped viewership and interest is everywhere, youtube twitter etc.

Additionally, for me personally, whatever was left has been killed by the off screen antics of some people as well. Might not matter to others. To me they do.

P.S. Pretty lazy and cheap of the writers to not fix their failed track but throw in an Anjol dream sequence every week to appease the fangirls. They must think the audience of this show is really stupid to pull such tactics.
