His scenes do come across "acted" too many times...And then his uncomfortable body language, spoils so many scenes..He should stick to a certain genre I believe. Now I do think whatever good I saw was because of the director... I have always found him extremely overrated.
Yeah, I think trying to adopt the persona of the character isn't his forte - he isn't able to pull it off convincingly. Especially when he is talking to Ninad and Bhavani.
Another thing I realised. Purely based only on the body language of Virat, in GC, he was confident, extremely patient but firm. Soon after marriage, he was calm, composed but firm when necessary. After Sai-Virat started having their fights, he started looking more conflicted, less self-assured. Post ousting he began looking very very vulnerable. A couple of months back, I had written in one of my post that Virat's inability in dealing with conflicts with Sai, and his own extreme, uncontrollable reactions to them had slowly eroded his self-confidence and strangely another member had the same impression. Now I'm confused if Neil's gradual shift to a more vulnerable Virat was deliberate - in line with my interpretation of a man losing his confidence (required by the script) or an inadvertent, unconscious shift after the director changed.
