Thanks for sharing this interview. It’s nice to see her acknowledge and admit that she had to do several takes to get the best audio, otherwise, it’s usually the case that many actors especially Btown ones brag about their getting the shot done in one take. Sakshi; her character is like me- I crib and cry about the problems I have, rather than trying to find solutions to it. 👍🏼

As regards her transition to the big screen, she has to have connections everywhere rather than wait for her talent and hardwork to be noticed by someone. The competition is massive, plus you also have to deal with nepotism. That part, where she said, she switches off easily out of playing a character, she has said in the past as well. And plus she is one of the few actors who are never satisfied with the effort they put in enacting certain scenes.

And more than writing poems and novels, she loves going to book clubs, literary, drama groups and participating in the events there.. After KKB ends, or Abhigya are phased out, I think this is what she will do.. don’t think she will work in a TV soap anymore.. there are other mediums out there, waiting for people like her. Hopefully, she gets a good opportunity and makes most out of them, not work in shit like BB or KKK. 🤡

Drama groups or Theatre sounds very 'Sriti'.👍🏼 Wont be surprised if that's the route she takes after this. Only constraint ig is going by the bts we get, she tends to break character and laugh.... seen that many times.😆

Don’t know much about the workings of drama groups, but theatre at least in India has a bleak future. (Pls feel free to correct me) There is an audience which is more interested in watching cinema and masala movies for the masses are what film producers in any language- be it Hindi or any southern language; look to cash in on the most.

Theatre is mostly ( wrong but popular opinion) for the older generation for whom there was hardly any entertainment, and the cultured people who appreciate art, music, dance etc. ‘The unwashed masses’ are happy watching a Rajnikant shouting ‘Ena Rascala…’ or a shirtless Salman. Abroad… no idea, what the scenario is.. maybe it’s a bit better.. hopefully especially in the UK. There is an audience for theatre, plus they have their classics.. which is adapted into so many theatre plays, dramas etc. There is an audience that loves watching theatre. Here, in India there is little to no audience for theatre.

And plus you had the monster of a pandemic called COVID, which devastated the cinema hall business. Many were shut, with no word on when they will start showcasing upcoming movies.. so don’t know how badly theatres are hit. And plus if you go for musicals, unless it’s a classical music show, artists play regional movie songs in their shows. Like, here.. I live in Chennai, so I had gone to this theatre for regional Tamil musical programmes, and they had a live band performing MGR (1970s Tamil superstar) songs. So that was a major facepalm moment for me, seeing as I had no idea who he was, until I read online about him.

So coming back to the point.. ( hope you are still awake and not fallen asleep 😆 😛 ) Sriti doing theatre won’t expose her much to film makers, or producers.
Whatever Sriti has written- especially that Eunuch drama was amazingly written, and enacted. ❤️ So there as well, she has some amazing talent and loads of work to look forward to, if she gets the opportunity to work with the right people.

Thanks for sharing btw. Love to know what all Sriti had to do, to voice her character.. gulp a cry using breathing techniques, very difficult to do unless you are actually bawling your eyes out.. 👏 Another thing, she is content doing whatever she is doing, and not looking to jump onto another medium… this is bad for her in her career… usually actors keep jumping mediums, to avoid getting typecast. Maybe at this point in her career, she feels comfortable to do this, but if she was younger, it would have been frowned upon. 😳
