Who do you think would have most earnings post idol and till now in 2 months approximately? Any wild guesses?

My wild guess is PD, followed by Arunita and SMP simply because they seem to have been the busiest. That Rishikesh concert must have earned them well - remember that resort is a really high end resort whose advertised room rates start at 35 K per night, and for this event they neither mentioned the price nor did they have any external advertiser banners. Meaning it was an exclusive event.

There are pros and cons for both in my opinion. For example assume after seeing Octopus videos if Arunitha or PD get offered for some acting roles will you like it?? And as you know actors earn much more than singers so obviously if offered I can see a rare chance of them rejecting it. Like this if every singer goes behind money and fame our music industry won't survive. I prefer singers devoting themselves for music and getting better music to our industry. If not we are up for many more Kantalaga's in future.

Back in the 1990s independent albums were catching up well before Bollywood killed it once again. That trend might come back, and it will be a good thing if it does. Bollywood is too tightly controlled and as per reports highly unfair to singers.

I agree on the 3 names and PD should be the biggest earner by far.

Between Aru and SMP there will be a toss up as Aru did two highly paying (usually) private events and SMP did a big show. These people also get paid for TV appearances (air time), ads and promotions. So overall will be close between the 18 year olds. Ashish may be 4th.
No idea how lucrative the Octopus deal is.

Also, since these folks are still managed by TSN, my guess is that they get only a percentage of what TSN charges. And TSN might be charging higher for PD and ArK than for say SMP or AsK, due to the ranking. That could put ArK higher than SMP but then SMP has done a large event with Stephen Devassy, as you said. So probably all even-steven, if you pardon the pun

I think my opinion will be minority for Octopus type stuff. I prefer singers giving voice and let actors do acting until and unless they want to get into acting field. For fans may be its working but I am really feeling awkward to see Arunitha and Pawandeep as romantic couple in those Octopus videos. But as I said iam not a fan so my opinion won't really have any value. As long as their fans are happy that's the best route for now. Small numbers of old school thoughts like me won't really matter anyway.

Eventhough playback is not giving money I still prefer it over private albums because they have longevity. 50years back movie songs also we are hearing now but I don't think same is true for HR type songs. Do we really remember them after 10 years? Honestly no. But I saw even below average movie songs having long life just because of actors in that song or movie theme.

It's just my view. Happy for Arudeep or any other singer if they find this better rewarding for their future. The singers themselves are best judges of their true potential and will have knowledge of industry than normal audience like me anyway.

I think, the only thing we have not copied from west is that we have not stopped having songs in our movies. Otherwise we like almost everything western - even mixing a lot of western music in our music. So, in west - artists have been featuring in their music videos for ages - not just as singers but very often in story form (even romantic) also. And in 90s non Bollywood music had become very popular, and we still remember those songs, many singers were featured in their videos - even in romantic ones - like Made in India song.

By the way I asked about contestants. Do you think HR will participate in II in future to get more recognition so you gave him future contestant title???🤣

Agree. Let's see how things turn in future. I hope if they really want to change music scenario I feel music directors should think about different themes not just romantic theme. Hope for the best.
