I thought only new singer don't get paid for recording the songs even seasoned singers don't get money looks like. Is this reality?

Just saw a youtube thumbnail with Arunita & Pawandeep as bride and groom. It's just 2 weeks old video and has 4.9 million views

That's one of the reasons I don't expect much for the idols from BW. I mean they can't solely rely on the industry in terms of career.

All alternatives should be welcome..singles, solos, private albums. And there r so many ways of gaining exposure in this day n age.

I may be in minority but m glad Arudeep landed the Octopus offer

MV starring singers is the best policy, in this way the singers get a face value n do not only remain a playback voice n the money on actors is also saved😉

That's why even the established singers are investing a lot on MV !

I think my opinion will be minority for Octopus type stuff. I prefer singers giving voice and let actors do acting until and unless they want to get into acting field. For fans may be its working but I am really feeling awkward to see Arunitha and Pawandeep as romantic couple in those Octopus videos. But as I said iam not a fan so my opinion won't really have any value. As long as their fans are happy that's the best route for now. Small numbers of old school thoughts like me won't really matter anyway.

Eventhough playback is not giving money I still prefer it over private albums because they have longevity. 50years back movie songs also we are hearing now but I don't think same is true for HR type songs. Do we really remember them after 10 years? Honestly no. But I saw even below average movie songs having long life just because of actors in that song or movie theme.

It's just my view. Happy for Arudeep or any other singer if they find this better rewarding for their future. The singers themselves are best judges of their true potential and will have knowledge of industry than normal audience like me anyway.

There are pros and cons for both in my opinion. For example assume after seeing Octopus videos if Arunitha or PD get offered for some acting roles will you like it?? And as you know actors earn much more than singers so obviously if offered I can see a rare chance of them rejecting it. Like this if every singer goes behind money and fame our music industry won't survive. I prefer singers devoting themselves for music and getting better music to our industry. If not we are up for many more Kantalaga's in future.

Just to add fun to this thread one question just out of curiosity, among II12 contestants we saw many different activities by individuals some busy with MV's, some with concerts and some with both. Who do you think would have most earnings post idol and till now in 2 months approximately? Any wild guesses?
