And he is the ruler, if he wasn't then the villagers would never have supported him and the RC's in their enmity against Thakuma because that requires a lot of effort and resources on their part.

Sorry ARC is not ruler , he get respect of barrister babu , when CC & KN people start troubling & killing TP people that time ani & RCs took responsibility of protecting TP so villagers started supporting RCs , ab to enimity rahi nhi to kis baat ka support kis baat ka raja ki vo uski baat mane kyu mane . ARC was standing there when people dragged d widow woman away.

This is true but the TP actually wanted to stop the war quite a while back but they couldn't due to RC's. The fire of revenge was continually stocked by the RC's. And it only worked because the RC's in particular ARC had a lot of influence and power over them.

Why would this power stop just because they are no longer in war?

And I found it quite weird how they dragged the widwa right infront of ARC, as if he has no importance. Don't get it.

I already why villagers supported RCs, initially it enimity was b/w RCs & das family later both villages also got included & it became war b/w both villages , many fights happened in these 8 yrs , many villagers & families died , ani had adopted 5 kids also

Ab dushmani khatam ho chuki , now for what they will consider ARC their so called king & why will they listen to him . Now he only hold respect of d person who look after legal matters of d village he is respected as barrister babu earlier he used to protect TP ab kis baat ke liye protect karega .

By fighting the impossible case Bondita has got some respect so now the widow's father is keeping trust on her. TRC hain na vi help karega batuk ki ya khud sambhal lega

I can be wrong but I feel TRC only gave this idea to Batuk to pretend as ani .
