She is too busy learning dance steps, listening to classical soirees in the hills and playing the most forgettable parts on Sony TV. Female solos are quarter of male solos in industry. She really has to go and make her case for work. Not take sunset shots on a beach like she has already achieved stardom!

Look, I am an armchair critic with zip knowledge about music. I can only try and read what is happening based on what those who dip their hands in their pockets do.

HR is a born businessman and no one can say he does not understand Bollywood music. He has given solos to almost everyone but duets to these two. So he must have bet that they are stronger together than as individuals. Octopus took the same leaf out of the book. Sony did the same in BLAH2 and SD4. Soon they will be bracketed as duet singers by industry which loves bracketing. It will hurt both much more than a struggle at this stage of their lives.

Like I said, every passing day makes things worse. This way Arunita may not even have a regional market left to fall back on.

I see no hope of this ending soon. Too much financial risk is at stake for at least Arunita. She has to get a solo break from somewhere. I don't see it coming for her though. She won't even get solo shows in Bengal because she has no time to pay attention to that market now.

Perhaps KJo song.

If HR is releasing so many songs why can Anu Malik not release that 1 song which Arunita sang in Indian Idol.

Aarey, she is 18. Her musical training is still not over. She is still an unfinished product and will make loads of improvements to her skills if she is diligent. I don't think Darshini is the right person to learn alaps from 🤣 She needs her guru/gurus for the next 3-4 years otherwise someone with better skills will come and take her place. The margin between very good singers is paper thin. The one who learns more is the long term winner.

Sorry, I am sounding pessimistic. But this was building up ever since she chose to waste her warm reception at home and make a break for glory. Instead of building her base and her skills she went off to sing for some rich man and never came back. She is building herself up to be a society singer (with the help of her mentors) rather than a industry-regarded singer. Therein lies the pain and is the reason for this, and many other diatribes today!

I stay here to keep updating her history in the hope that it will be useful and she deserves it. Otherwise, believe me, she has given me enough reasons to spend time on other things.
