I am also talking about onscreen. We are saying exactly the same thing now. My post was in reply to Ur quote that Since Anupama is a gujarati woman ,.she should be the one to host Navratri,.to which I said that why can't Neil who plays a Marathi character host Navaratri.

I also gave u the example of that punjabi show of star plus. Channel didnt restrict her to represent other festivals.

I am surely not offended by Ur POV, u have every right to express them, and I can surely counter them. Like I did last time when u asked to ignore some pics just becoz Ayesha wasn't there and Aish and other co stars were there.

Well, he can of course and I am pretty sure he will be awesome. But tbh I too think that Rupali Ganguli (not sure the spelling is right) would have been a great choice. Because a) Navratri is celebrated in a really grand way in Gujarat, much grander than anywhere else in India. A nine night dance festival is held. I don't think anywhere else in the world there is a dance function running for that long. It is one of the things Gujarat is famous for, celebrating Navratri.

b) Navratri is mainly about celebrating the various avatars a devi and hence, a woman has. And given Anupamaa show is mainly about the importance and acceptance of the identity of a woman, I think that making the actor do this would make much more sense.

But I have no doubt that Neil would be pretty great too.
