Well I did agree on the money part but then lots of people have money. The article wasn't asking who was richer.

Being taken seriously as an artist is not vague but yes its subjective. If you compare their expertise in their respective fields , it would take a lot of audacity to say Salman is better at acting than Salim was at Writing/acting/filmmaking. Say for example you end up with the responsibility of choosing a director for the Lalita Kala Academy. Would you choose Salim or Salman? That's what I meant by being taken seriously as an artist or in this case being a better artist. Not to forget Salim was plenty popular in a pre digital age during his Salim Javed duo days.

Kim Kardashian is awfully popular all over the world and is loaded with money but Naomi Campbell would always been taken more seriously as a model even though most people out of the ones you meet wouldn't know who she is.
