You are right. There are a thousand ways to stop the divorce and its not like Pallavi can be forced to marry Mandar once the divorce papers are signed. She can call off the ruse any time she feels Mandar is getting an upper hand . Now toh even Raghav is wid her.

My problem is not the divorce papers or her signing it. They can sign and think of destroying the papers afterwards . My problem is with her even considering burning her hands as an optn. How is self harm even an optn ??? Why should one even consider burning her hands to get out of any situation ??? Even if its a real divorce .......IT SHOULD NEVER BE AN OPTION.

Why she didnt sign it....for that we hv to await the episodes.

Aaj toh CVs kuch bhi daalte hai serial me. They even made the cook creepier than Mandhar which to me was just not done. Mandhar is the lowest of the low.

Why burning hand is what I am wondering? She can falsely put a bandage on and say she burned her hand but its not really burned etc. Maybe Mandhar would catch on that but like Raghav can get any doctor to falsely plaster her hand....LOL She wont be able to sign for weeks

Yep I said it somewhere else.....the cook is creepy. A stranger in the house trying to hold and touch a girl in the house , making gestures at her and noone is taking it seriously.....this itself is problematic.

Well what you said can absolutely be an optn. Maybe pallavi comes up wid that idea later. But since I dont see a bandage in her hands .....probably she changed her mind.

If real life divorces happened at the speed in which ITV divorced happened several couples would be relieved 😆

Signing is one thing but I found the photo thing also ridiculous. Why would you risk blowing your cover and endangering your life and aai’s life because you don’t want to burn a photo? And even if you don’t want to burn the photo why would you choose Mandhaar’s photo to burn when he can see it so easily? I didn’t find that ‘smart’, I found it dumb.

To begin with, divorce with mutual consent to the best of my knowledge cannot be filed within the first year of marriage. Forget the procedures that follow. This is where the ignorance is seeps in guise of creative liberty.

I won't say this pallavi's Idea of self harm is regressive because this Happens all around us and is not a thought of days gone by. Do kids not harm themselves in fear of grades?

Let me first explain something. I wasnt calling Pallavi regressive but the writing regressive.

Yes people do self harm in many situations. None of which should be promoted on TV. Its an influential media and affects so many minds widout even realising the extent of it.

I agree children do it to escape bad grades . But is it okay to promote dt on tv too?

When a person is under severe mental trauma and is highly depressed and does something .......its still not excusable but understandable. But imo ( just my opinion) Pallavi is under no such compulsion. She has a window . She can call off this ruse / pretence if its weighing down on her. But saying I would rather burn my hands than sign a divorce papers .....is regressive . Why would you just think of dt ? Should she be thinking of other ways ? This is done just to glorify FL and promote her as " Mahaan" . Self harm is being glorified here. Pallavi is a modern girl who infleuences so many on social media. People love her and adore her......but when she resorts to such things in the name of keeping the sanctity of marriage intact.......it puts a lasting impression on many. People will be infleuenced . They will also think self harm is a way to escape situation.

Please try to understand my post is no way anti Pallavi. Its about the writing which I find regressive. I come from a family where my parents have taught me nothing is above you. However bad a situation gets , giving in or harming yourself is not a choice....and should never be. So when a show like ours promotes such thoughts in pretence of showing how pious marriage is for a FL......I find it regressive only. Problematic and regressive both.

That too. I did not find any logic in changing the photo . We all saw the pain she felt while wanting to burn the picture . That was enough. She should hv burnt it. Its a picture after all. And your spouse should understand . And you should hv faith that he would. Like someone pointed out recently......Raghav's photos must be der in so many newspaper and magazines.....which must be used or disposed off in many ways. Just like dt....it ws just a pic.

Still as long as she was not thinking of harming herself.....I was still ok wid the dumbness.

To me, I don't take any inspiration from Pallavi but I try to understand where the character is coming from, how is the character established, how they may think and what they would do. To me while Raghav is an impulsive fool so is Pallavi an emotional fool.

This is twice in a span of few days that the show is depicting self harm. Earlier mandar burnt his hand and now Pallavi is talking about it. While I there is no doubt that the character sketches and our opinion about them are different, still both are resorting to same action.

One needs to be sent to asylum asap while other is deep falling in the pit of trauma to talk such a thing. Its the consequence of her building up trauma is where I see this coming from. Desperation to escape... what we see as self harm, such individuals look at it as an desperate attempt of self preservation. To save themselves and at times even their loved ones from forth coming events, they inflict pain on themselves. Forget Pallavi, this is what I have seen people do in real life.

If you see by precap, neither raghav's act of brandishing a gun is right nor pallavi's threat to her ownself. That is however their character sketch. I have been naive to call such people coward but I have learnt that's not the case. It takes a lot of courage and their mental state is a total mess.

When the family ignore the signs of harassment and depression, this happens. This is what deshmukhs are doing, they are blind towards their son. If aayi could see, anyone could, it was on your face. But this is where everyone failed, including Pallavi. And now no one is even ready to listen to her complain against swapnil who would bother paying attention about their son. I hope makers deal with this sensitively to sensitive people to the impact of trauma on human minds.

Regressive is concerned, well most ITV is regressive. The tug of war of having Pallavi raghav Rao or Pallavi mandar deshmukh itself is regressive as if she just can't be Pallavi on her own accord.

Premise of divorce itself is faulty. That's not how it works. But ITV means signing divorce papers means signing death warrant!

But Pallavi wanting to avoid signing is her psychological need and not the regressive thought of not signing divorce papers. Had that been the case, she would have not have agreed to even put up an act with mandar. Mandar is making her uncomfortable and he plan to announce for their engagement immediately after signing (again legally not allowed). Going by Mandar's acts, after engagement his ministrations will increase as she would be his fiance! She apparently fears that.

I know when you say, self preservation above all. But this is a thought that is integrated from childhood through the sense of security instilled by a stable family support. Unfortunately Pallavi has had none!

But this is how I perceive and read her situation. You may have a different outlook / approach / perception which I respect and agree to disagree with. Having said that, I gracefully bow out.

See I get what you are saying. Totally understand your point. But from how much I hv studied or understood Pallavi from the start till now.....this seems very impulsive and irrational for her too. This isnt self preservation ........its an attempt to preserve the marriage on papers.

I know it happens in real life......but under much duress. I hv seen stories where girls hv cut their faces bcz someone kept harassing them . Dts what my point is.....when you are showing such content on TV.....one should think a 100 times before it. Its a sensitive issue. Honestly I hv found Pallavi emotional but this is not just being emotional. It cannot be put under dt . Atleast I dont think a emotional person who is also smart will ever do this.

I agree dt Swapnil issue should hv been handled better. I said this elsewhere too. While Pallavi is being harassed by a complete stranger in the house , nobody thinks its important to investigate. But in case of Mandar , Pallavi herself has kept it a secret from everyone. Also I dont find Pallavi depressed. Clinical depression has signs and I dont see any in her. Can blame d writers for it......if they wanted to show a depressed person....they arent doing a good job at it.

While I understand the psycology part , I would still say content wise its regressive. Bcz as much as we debate on it.....writers hv no intentions of showing psychological trauma in dt scene. Such scenes are only put to show how great the FL is.....to what extent she can go to .......how she is willing to self sacrifice to preserve her marriage. This is the thought dt I am against. Writers need to change wid tym and bring in better ways to show greatness. I hope you are getting me.
