Hello people... this is Sonia... and i have been a silent stalker in this forum for past couple of weeks... there is this nagging debate that has been going on inside me that has got me to make this topic and it's little off the show.
Word of caution: This is about the character we loathe... and the bunch of tribe that he is a part of... that's Mandar!
Very often these fictitious characters are inspired from real life people and Mandar is no exception. He is an absolute creep, cringeworthy and pure evil. And such men do exist in our society. Mostly families are well aware of their children's shenanigans and then we have a typical Indian mentality ki shaadi Kara do banda apne aap sudhar jayega! Like really... how delusional people can be when they jeopardize an innocent life by painting a rosy picture of a picture perfect family. Something that deshmukhs might have done!
Mandar has reminded me of two instances that I have personally witnessed...
1. A man who never trusted his wife enough and would keep her in lock and key all the while. Like quite literally as he would lock her up while away for work.
2. Another man who used to brutally toy and abuse his wife even with kids around the house. The kids use to call up their Nana- Nani ki papa have locked mumma and she is screaming inside.
Having watched him, it's no secret that he is capable of this. Infact, he has already put Pallavi under house arrest. Truth be, aise log nahi sudharte!
Mandar's case is shady. Sharda definitely seems to know more about her son then she ever spoke about. She was quick to catch her son's pretense and didn't shy away from frisking his room. I highly doubt a mother with such sharp instincts would have been in dark about her son's real face. Yet she agreed to his marriage. Makes me wonder, her love for Pallavi was it for real or result of a deep seated guilt!
Even after that they all painted a good boy image of Mandar to Pallavi! Did anyone think what he would have done or made out of a naive girl all of 22? In two years she stayed with them, none of them ever gave her a reason to not believe them whereas in private Sharda expressed her displeasure with her husband's ways and tagged him as a failure in his father's role. Ofcourse, she may have had her reasons.
Mandar's father is a typical MCP guy. And Mandar had been brought up witnessing this side of his father to which all he watched was a silent submission of his mother. And thus he grew to be a bigger devil as submission is what he might have sought from his wife too. How do families go blind to their son's evil ways?
If aai knew and yet she didn't take corrective measures or raise her voice, she is equally responsible for her own condition. Sometimes resistance is not enough, one has to be vocal... and apparently Sharda missed out on calling out Mandar for what he was.
As much as Pallavi acted like a fool, but she is also paying for the ignorance of the entire Deshmukh clan, including - God forbid if it be true - the woman she trusted the most, her Aai! Aaj poori family ki life is in danger, why? Because they apparently shut their eyes and threw caution to air. No doubt, she did the same mistake as them and Raghav unnecessarily dragged into this. But the issue is real and threat looms. She lost her path for sometime but I guess this is too harsh for an honest mistake that she committed. And as far as Mandar is concerned, I believe, even if she wouldn't have indulged him from the beginning, he would have still done something freakish to get what he wanted.
Problem is till the time, the storm stares in the face... people undermine it, that this can't happen to them.
Sorry, didn't intend to make it long, but had to let it out. No offense to anyone.
