actually there was that one show Shrenu did in which she pretended to be an adarsh bahu but was really out to destroy the family...which was kinda fresh and fun, ngl. Okay, now that I have that bad joke out of the way... you are talking about Shrenu's Sarvagun Sampan ahow right? The one with Zain? That actually started well and Shrenu I feel did great in it as Jhanvi. I do think Shrenu did another one years ago where she also takes revenge on a family by pretending to fall in love with the guy and marrying him. Except the reason of revenge turns out to be a misunderstanding there. It was on Sony as far as I remember. But yes, there is only a handful of shows that have the women who are grey - and not the vamp! The ones that do, hardly run. Heck, ITV finds it hard to show normal women who are flawed, let alone grey shaded ones.

You certainly answered the why simply. A rant can back it up though Lol.

Yes, that was the one. I remember being really intrigued by the promos and I watched the first few eps. Then it of course went haywire...but up until that point it was quite interesting. Even though an ITV FL can only be shown to be "evil" because underneath it all some injustice was clearly done to her/her family she can't just be grey for the sake of it. But that said, it felt like she was a Maya-type, without all the craziness 😆

But make her a naagin, then everything is fine 😆 except she inevitably discovers she was wrong about her husband's evilness and ends up being a pati-vrata saanp either way 🤣
