Why does every Bollywood film nowadays have an obligatory smooch?

It's like makers go out of their way to include a kissing scene even when it's not needed. 😆

No.... kissing is necessary.

Almost all Bollywood movies have romance or atleast a romantic subplot. If you're showing a couple, you need to show kissing and/or other intimate moments between them.

If you can't do that then you can't sell that they're a couple.

I didn't watch JTHJ but I cringed watching the kids in jab harry met sejal. Why does he has to do at this point of time that's too with much young actress when that not necessary in that movie.

Kissing >>> interminable neck sniffing
