Ditto! I was having the same conversation with someone a few days ago on how these shows have turned into a circus with extreme OTT stuff. I despise love angles in reality shows, they make me cringe! You are absolutely right..this trend is not going anytime soon in fact it will get worse in future. I haven’t watched II 12 on a regular basis and will give a miss to the next season because the format has turned into a mess.

Haha. True from now on for music shows girls need to be beautiful also to make sure these love tracks work. Anyway I made my mind not to watch any ITV reality show post II12 so these stuff gives me a better reason to stick to my decision.

Zee’s Pro Music League, may have taken the cue from Sony and they made an abominable last ditch attempt to forge a romantic play acting during singing between Ankush Bharadwaj (II 10) and newbie Priyanshi Srivastava. It was terribly grating to watch the singers grapple to create a romance while singing. Why, Zee even created a fake marriage scenario around Mika Singh and Bhoomi Trivedi of the Ram Chahe Leela fame. And if we go there, when the trio of Udit Narayan, Alka and Kumar Sanu visited Indian Idol this time, wasn’t there this flirting suggestive of a non-existent triangle. Bigger singers are playing along with this narrative.
That said, I have to admit I enjoy the Arunita Pawandeep camaraderie, but I enjoyed the Pawan-Ashish moments too.

It is there in regional reality shows too these days. But it is new for them and is more suggestive than the crass stuff being doled out at Sony. Something like at the start when HR said Arunita was watching PD play dholak and not watching Anjali. That's about their limit.
