Me! I love reading and there was a time I was never without a book to read. I started pretty early too. Remember laying my hands on my first Nancy Drew in class 3 and I was hooked from then on. Library period was my favourite and I used to take all the books that were handed out to other kids who were not interested in reading too and we had to submit the books back in the next library period so I used to devour all of them before that 😆 A tale of two cities, Oliver Twist and Pride and Prejudice followed which introduced me to classic English literature which is now my favourite. Right now I am reading Bleak House by Charles Dickens.

I read mostly fiction and prefer autobiographies in non fiction. Actually I just love reading biographies and I am forever in search of good ones to read. I love drama and mystery genres.
These days, since becoming a mom, I find it difficult to take time out for reading but there’s always a book on my night stand. In 2020 I read the most number of books in 5 years 😆 Including The Shining, The moving Finger (Agatha Christie) , Sea of Poppies, 5 different books in one Reader’s Digest volume and autobiography of artist Rekha Rodwiditya. I consider it quite a feat 😆

Wow! You sound like an avid reader. I used to love the classics once upon a time and read the Ladybird editions of everything from Rebecca to Mansfield Park.

But now I'm much more into contemporary fiction. There are so many novelists out there challenging the form of the novel in interesting and diverse ways!

I used to read a lot when I was younger. Now, no time at all. Kids, life etc I do hope to one day get back to this favorite pastime of mine.

Glad you are able to read as much as you can.

I used to be fond of M&Bs, Dan Brown, Erle Stanley Gardner (Perry Mason), Sidney Sheldon kinda novels. Have never experimented out of my comfort zone, but hopefully will in the future if I'm able to find time to do so.

I'm a book shopaholic who loves to collect books but never gets around to actually reading them. Is there a word for that? 😆

I love non-fiction books too. I recently read The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker and strongly recommend it to every woman out there. Such an important topic and helped me understand all the little things we easily overlook in our everyday interactions with strangers.

Are you me? In the habits thread you mentioned how you buy a lot of makeup and skincare and stuff. Now this lol. I love collecting books too but haven't had the chance to read them; life and all.

I'm an absolute bibliophile. Though I'm a bengali but the only language I'm fluent with in reading especially is English. Though I can speak and write in total 4 languages.

I'm mostly into mysteries and crime related. Fiction, non fiction both interests me in these subjects. My new obsession being the concept of time and space. Slowing stepping into the world of Stephen Hawking and loving every bit of it. Heck in case of crime I don't even leave out newspaper articles 🤣.

I've not really read Indian authors that much but started off with Harappa this morning... liking it till page 50. Lets see how it goes.

Also if any of you can suggest new books to me in these subjects please ♥️
