I agree and understand that. This is the problem in general in human beings. He is not firm in this too. That is why he gets insecured when she says she wants to leave or when she doesn’t give importance to him but instead gets upset. If he thinks these, he needs to implement them too and let her be, not expect anything from her.

Sai does the same thing. She has built walls around her, she has decided to stay away from him or go away from him but she also gets insecured when she actually faces some situations. She gets hurt when he speaks in favour of Pakhi or if Pakhi comes in between them. If she has decided to stay away, she should without complaining.

Neither can he nor can she. Because even though both think that they can resist their temptations to live with each other, even though both decide that they should give space to the other, even though both decide that they will let them lead their own life, they are not able to. They want each other, they are failing in implementing whatever they decide on. That is why both are getting hurt.

Virat thinks Sai doesn’t like him and he shouldn’t push her, she thinks he likes Pakhi and she should stay away, but both actually want one another, they fail to follow whatever they had planned to and hence they end up hurting each other in ways they shouldn’t.
