I’m sure he knows he’s not as big as his wife or his dad or even his mum...he’s doing what he can to lead his life...why keep probing him about the same thing again and again...

Even if a person tries to overcome insecurities, looks like people are only too keen to remind them of it constantly 😒

I think Abhishek has done ok for himself, he is a good actor but not "hero" material. He tried being a hero early in his career and that failed, and now has finally found his groove in films as seen in his recent roles.

I know the constant comparison to his father and wife probably annoys him too much, but reacting like this will only attract more bothersome questions and scrutinity, that's how media works.

I didn't find anything offensive about the journalist's question. He could have easily said that yes, so and so films or no, still waiting for the right script. Instead he goes and makes a circus out of it.

It seemed to me like the reporter was respectful and even complimented films with him as the lead actor. Abhishek could easily have said something like, I’m really looking for good rolls instead of big rolls but I’m always reading scripts and if I find a great leading roll I would certainly take it up. Or I don’t have anything signed yet but I’m looking. Or There’s nothing I can talk about now but maybe soon. Or No comment next question please.

But to pretend he doesn’t understand the question and then treat the reporter the way he did makes me think he’s a defensive ass with a fragile ego.

It's not easy to live with constant scrutiny and comparisons. His frustration is understandable. He is trying hard to make peace with his situation but time n again people do not let him be, which makes him lash out at them.
