What Neil meant to say was the overall tracks, storyline and to a large extent the actions while be remade. That doesn't mean we sit and check if every scene or emotion was there in kd or not. Tbh personally felt Sairat had the best progression and growth in this unlike the original. And that was not just because of Ayesha and Neil but Sairat had actually well written scenes. While this week was undoing of that progression. Otherwise that was not the case
Sairat had many additional scenes. To name a few the holi week, aniket track, that hospital track where Sai takes food to Virat and so many other such additions were made here to improvise sairat. Valentine's day track in itself a addition so probably they wanted to show dynamics and showed that V-P scene. They actually even show progression because there he chose to explain but during Holi he asked her to stop.
Jhoola was an addition but not the scene as Pakhi does come interrupt sairat in the original. And if not for Neil's covid. Holi was going to play out immediately because even that gun prank was going to be telecasted the next day. Virat missing Samrat during holi needed to be shown and that's what happens in that scene. He defends Sai and walks off the moment she began badmouthing Sai. While typing this, I am reminded how that 14 epis will be pushed down the drain If the kidnapping truth never comes to Virat's knowledge. Hopefully they don't do that.
They did make changes even in terms of core. Sai is toned down. Virat was shown softer atleast till this week and minus few instances so Virat applying ice was probably to show him softer in comparison to his counterpart but then for the sake of drama and ipl pressure of trp. They ended up showing a ruthless Virat this week which was again an undoing of their own improvisation. While he might have shown to have soft corner because of Samrat or his guilt. Virat does maintain his distance and knows his limits in this version as well. Even his body language shows the same. The essence of the actual couple in terms of story was only ruined with this week's script. That particular night to be specific.
But for entertainment's sake it's worth ignoring this week and continue to watch and see NeilSha shine as SaiRat or quit watching because story wise it's actually a point of no return for both of them or a longer separation...
This is a personal pov. You are free to disagree but that's not going to change my opinion of Sairat having an organic and to an extent realistic growth here unlike kd ❤️
