Ya sure then see you soon
Pavitra rishta is also back with a new season & many other colors tv shows are back with new seasons+same cast... when will we get the news of ipkknd 4 with sarun??😭
I think first, after the story in itself ended with first episode to Shyam's revelation, the tracks ahead seemed like unplanned and just poorly written altogether. Like Khushi matured so much between the last few days of six month contract and then the wedding and after wedding episodes and then all of a sudden she turned back into a naive, thick headed person. I honestly feel like Barun was over the show after a year and he left dissatisfied with how it was going so he might not want to come back. I could be wrong but I feel like it'd be hard to get the lead pair back because both of them had different motives and experience with their characters. The shows mentioned by OP have leads who absolutely loved their experience. I used to watch KRPKAB and both the leads had very similar experience with their characters and the show. After watching last year's nine year anniversary interview by Gul of Sanaya and Barun, it was clear that they both didn't;t had same intentions and hopes from the show. Makes me sad but ofc the actors are entitled to their time.
I would love it if they did a second season exploring ten years later in a mini series form the way KRPKAB did a season two which aired on television. it would be such a nice treat!

Hey all,
I just wanted to share my two cents over here. To respectfully differ from the other opinions, I think for both - Sanaya and Barun - IPK is special. And not just them, even for the the writers and other people.
It is the show that's really a massive landmark in their careers, and in separate interviews both have often described their love for the show. Yes, there were also flip sides to that show being so popular.
Barun was painfully typecast as the urban upper middle class and they'd only give him roles based on what he was popular for and not what he could. It took him nine years to do a film like Halahal - and I was so glad because finally someone saw his mettle as an actor and outside the box of Arnav Singh Raizada! Even in Tu Hai Mera Sunday, WHICH WAS BRILLIANT, a lot of people didn't connect the Arnav they loved to the fabulous Arjun so quite a few unfortunately didn't watch the film (and there were issues ofc of people not watching films if it didn't have "mainstream" actors but not here for a debate so let's not go into it 😊).
Imagine working on something that made you really big and not getting good work because you worked on something like that and became that big. Boon became bane kinda thing? Damn... that's a bummer.
For Sanaya her roles have always been different from one show to the next. Gunjan was miles away from Khushi, and then to Chanchan and I'm glad Rangrasiya came her way because she again could show her range with Paro. And with the newer short films and web series, she is exploring different character, each time.
I know for us it might feel like they're not that invested/grateful/love the show for whatever reasons or because they don't mention it as much as we do, but I don't think that's the case.
I agree with Stuti that there were some external factors that probably made everyone reluctant to come back and make a show together.
I often wonder that if those (and no names being taken here as well) respected Barun Sanaya's personal lives and also admired their chemistry (like all of us) then we would've seen them together on screen more frequently.
Even now, whenever Sanaya posts a pic with her friends there are people writing to her to post a pic with Barun and vice versa.
I love the way the fans of Naagin 5 treated Sharad and Surbhi (to my knowledge). They loved the onscreen couple, respectfully showered love on the offscreen friendship and you see they're in a music video together!
Now I'm not saying that this is the only thing responsible for them not coming back on screen, but let's say it might've played a part. Who knows, they were probably never bothered by it 😆
Second of all, I think both Barun and Sanaya now are extremely careful about the projects they choose. So if IPK, canon or new, came in front as a carefully written web series on or even a well written telefilm then they'd do it at the drop of a hat. It's no secret that they both prefer limited episodes with a brilliant script.
And they've both performed brilliantly on such material as well!
So they won't work on a full fledged show because very FEW Indian shows have kept their word of "ok, six month contract, we'll keep it to six months" I think Sony at times sticks to its timeline? (Reporters and Mere Dad Ki Dulhan) I can't remember Star stopping a successful show because its written timeline came to an end (not demonizing any channel, just an observation).
I remember Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka being extended even though it was made as a finite series. While things like that can be a success for the fans, it can be quite difficult for actors and their career development (not referring to the actors in YJHJK, that's just an example).
So at the end of the day let's not think anything negative and hope that if Sanaya, Barun and the whole team decide to come back together then it's on something good that we can all love and enjoy!
See you all later 😎,
S
I think you're so right about both of them willing to do a limited mini series kind of thing. Mostly because I think in last year's anniversary interview Barun kept mentioning that he was more inclined in picking the six month contract show he got offered compared to IPK and that he was frustrated with the channel and PH offering more ay to keep him when he just wanted to stick to a timeline. Plus they aren't actors in twenties anymore which I think is a major reason why they are picky about the content they pick, and we should definitely respect their own creative choices.

Sanaya, Barun or anyone from the group for that matter... hasn't posted any images of only Sarun in the last few years. I don't even remember how many years exactly but definitely a long long time.
They make sure that any picture that has them both also has someone else too. All rest are group pics or their pics with others.
This surely can't be a coincidence. And I don't think that it's possible either that Sarun never got any photos clicked just by themselves. They must have... but they refrain from posting them. I think that's proof enough of much the Sarun shipping fandom bothered them. And considering the number of crazy theories that have been conspired about them... it's not at all shocking if they are affected by it.
I'm just glad it didn't affect their friendship though 😳.
@Red Spot on!
omg yes I think there individual shipping bothered them because they both had serious partners when they were on the show and they both were very much in love with their partners. In all behind the scenes interviews, Barun would gush over his wife every time SARUN was mentioned instead of ARHI.

Indeed. Also, there's been a big shift in the kind of tv content we see. Since 2014 there's been a major shift towards supernatural, kitchen politics, and remakes. And you can see every show is being made for more than a year's timeline (irrespective of what PH and channels say) and I can imagine as an actor you want your calendar fixed so you can work on multiple great projects and not be left in a show that doesn't make any head or tails. And basically have your own time - which is a luxury for many actors cause TV shoots run 16-18 hours daily. These are actors who value good projects over money.

yess!! I think one thing not discussed enough is the labour laws that surrounds Bollywood and tellywood. The way daily soaps are shot is so detrimental to the actors health! Also shows don't start shooting or having their episodic scripts written early enough to have a sane shooting schedule.
As for content, I'm sure you're right. The last show I watched was Kuch rang pyar ke on SONY and that was in 2015/6 and at that time, that was one of very few shows with somewhat cohesive plot and story.
