I would like to start by apologizing for not being cognizant of motherly feelings when I talked about Devi and Aastha in my last review. Everyone who had commented on the post helped me realize how wrong the line was. There are many women who can't become mothers. There are many who are adoptive mothers. You don't need to go through labor to feel motherly affections for a child. Everyone is not Devi. I was too busy rooting for Aastha that I didn't realize the gravity of that line for other viewers.

Let's jump into today's review:

Anokhi: "Mujhe favor nahi chahiye" she deserves a party for she just said this on his face. I love her for this. Shaurya ki bolti band kar di. Despite the allegations he made, she is comfortable being with ACP in front of him. He sure hurt her, but he couldn't break her. That's the spirit. Did she really think of Shaurya when Ahir asked about her favorite person? How, when, and why? I know beta ma-baap se aage hota hain, but it should be logical. When did Aastha lose her spot and Shaurya earned this place? I noticed all the flashbacks she got were of Shaurya saving her when she was in trouble. Is this what her character has resorted to? I am 19 too, but I won't call a person my favorite just because he has saved me from riots or goons. To recall, she thinks he left her during the riots. So that makes it more confusing. If Shaurya is the most complex character, Anokhi was the simplest character in this serial. They should have kept it this way. Just to shove the love angle down our throats, they are doing this. We all have signed up for a unique love story between a professor and a student. They should build it up gradually. Only recently they showed Shaurya developing feelings for her. Why do they need to get Anokhi to like him so soon? I noticed one good(real?) thing. Today she looked disturbed while leaving Chandigarh. I don't know if it was because of Shaurya or SIAC. It better be the latter. Anokhi missing Shaurya all of a sudden especially after last week doesn't go well with me. Especially after he blabbered nonsense and hasn't apologized for it yet. When they stop at the dhaba and Shaurya kidnaps her, Anokhi was not hyper. I would take it as a good sign. Despite the allegations he made, the advances he suggested, she knows she is safe with him, so she is ready to listen and go with him to Kapurthala. And I thought right. As hinted by the precap, she thinks he doesn't mean sorry. By the way, today's precap was different than the one on Monday. Which is the real apology scene? I personally liked KV's expressions on Monday's precap better. They shouldn't change scenes like this.

Shaurya: The way he was fumbling in the first scene anyone would understand that he has special feelings for Anokhi. But our trimurti is dumb. They made him follow them all the way to that dhaba. Aaj Aastha se pata chala that he likes malai kulfi. Else I thought he was the ice cream sort of person. Well, considering he wanders on the streets at night, this wasn't too shocking. We are talking about today's episode. Anokhi cut his call twice yet he wasn't angry. She was going with Ahir. Ahir opened the door for her right in front of him. How come he wasn't destructive in his anger? It is a good thing, no? Then again, against his character. Thank god his focus is on convincing Anokh rather than what she does with Ahir. Phir kya? 90 kilometers picha kiya aur washroom se kidnap karke le gaya. That means he entered ladies washroom. How come no one noticed. Very strange considering the dhaba was full. Then professor sahab needed to bring her to that bridge for apologizing. To me, it didn't sound genuine. Maybe others' opinion will help me in this case. When did he have the realization at the first place? I know viewers don't like when stories are stretched, at the same time, makers shouldn't make it an express train that we can't fathom how, when or what of a given situation.

Aastha: Her son literally came in front of a car and jumped on its bonnet. Still no reaction? Even yesterday when she came back from shopping, she failed to notice the cut in Shaurya's finger. The cut was a small thing but jumping in front of the car was not. How come she didn't panic? Had Devi been in her place, even she would create a scene about this. Hala ki Devi would have blamed Ahir for this when the fault was Shaurya's. A mother IRL would scold her son for pulling such a stunt no matter how old he is. Her lack of reaction surprised me. Then again she remembers Shaurya's favorite kulfi and guarantees that he is a good man. Aastha knows that Shaurya insulted Anokhi, called her characterless and whatnot. How come she is so easy with letting Anokhi be with Shaurya. Just because he is your son, you can't overlook what he did to Anokhi. This snatches the title of a good teacher from her as well. On one hand, you will protect Anokhi from Devi; on the other, you will let her be with Shaurya. For her information, both of them accused Anokhi of the same thing. Is that how it works?

Ahir: He always ends up having work in the same place as Anokhi. How come these two didn't meet earlier. What work does he have in Kapurthala. I am sad that he didn't have a comeback to Shaurya's stunt. He should have. I like his scenes with Shaurya a lot. His reactions when Aastha asked him what work he has prompts me to think of two possibilities. (1) He has a crush on Anokhi. (2) Someone very special to him lives in Kapurthala. His reaction when Aastha informed him about Anokhi leaving with Shaurya was normal. So I think no 2 is most likely. Honestly, I want him to be a positive guy. He seems fun-loving. The actor is good too. This serial needs a positive, useful and loveable character. He better be that.

Kanchan: Give me 10 minutes of Devi but not 1 minute of her (Okay, I am exaggerating). You all can disagree. This is just my opinion. Comparatively, she was tolerable in today's episode than on Monday's. I would still stick to the fact that the scenes aren't so useful. I appreciate she is trying to help Shaurya, but there should have been a build-up. There weren't Shaurya-Kanchan scenes in the beginning. I think in episode 13/14, Kitty-Bebo were making fun of her and Yash's estranged relationship when Shaurya saves her. She told him that she could handle it. Shaurya said he has handled it, so it is enough. He looked intimidating as he said that. Suddenly now when they are giving us an overdose, I find it hard to digest. And she talks to him so frankly. Even Kitty-Bebo can't. On his birthday, they asked Tej if his mood is right so they could wish him. When Kitty-Bebo are scared of him, how come Kanchan isn't? Even Shaurya doesn't seem to mind it. At least make the scenes meaningful. If they had to bring a mentor for Shaurya, they should have either sketched Kanchan very well from the beginning or make Shaan, Ahir or Aastha the mentor. I am surprised how Shaan and Aastha aren't able to see the budding love when Kanchan and Ahir can.

Devi and Gayatri were in this episode as well but not as much for me to write an analysis on them. The precap seems to be the apology scene again. I hope we get it by tomorrow.

Waiting to hear your thoughts.

Yes, Anokhi's feelings seem to have appeared out of the blue. She is actually confused about Shaurya. About the favourite person thing, she first remembers being with him during the riots and the next is him insulting her and she answers Babli. So she is definitely attracted to him for being with her during very difficult situations and is really conflicted about that attraction knowing what he thinks of her. The humiliation that we are making a big deal of may not be such a big deal for Anokhi because she is eager to get back the previous image of Shaurya and for her a sorry is just enough, though it has to be from the heart. Though we all know it is not so easy to get such a mentality out of the system within a matter of days. But she is willing to discount Shaurya.

I have given my take on Shaurya in another thread so saving my time here.

CVs are really confused about what to do with Aastha. They had created a very refreshing character given the standards of indian tv and are now unable to pay enough attention to it so the consistency is suffering. They are busy with moving the love story ahead. Aastha is perceptive enough to have got a whiff of Shaurya's feelings but she keeps it to herself. I agree she should have atleast asked Shaurya if he was okay when he jumped on the car bonnet. That should be the instinctive reaction of any mother. Though she did ask him to take care of himself later. About saying Shaurya is a nice man, I think it was in the sense that he will not physically hurt Anokhi and Anokhi willingly went with him. Apparently Aastha is a strong believer in individual freedom. She guides Anokhi but never pushes her. She lets Anokhi take decisions on her own. Although I desperately want a conversation between her and Shaan regarding Shakhi and Aastha expressing some reservations because of Shaurya's thinking. I hope she and Shaan make some effort to get Shaurya to understand the extent to damage his words could cause Anokhi.

Nikki: I feel she is disturbed because of SS, not SIAC, though she is yet to realise that. Her thinking of SS as favourite person, though warmed my shipper heart but my brain can't accept that a guy who called her characterless could be her favourite.

SS: So he agrees with Kanchan what the next 3 words are gonna be? Does this mean he has already realised?

Aastha: Her character is confusing to me. Her sudden wish to apologise to SS & wish him on his B'day didnt gel with me, What stopped her for so long? Also for someone who never responded to any of Shaan's overtures for 25 years, suddenly using him when needed, I didnt like that. She is a person with good intentions, responsible daughter, role model for her students but not a good mother is my opinion.

ACP: Ditto @bold.

Kanchan: The actor acc to me is overacting. It would have been more involving if they had shown a few scenes of her with SS but still it is not a deal breaker to me. If only the actor tones down a bit it would be nice.

Just wanted to make this point about what we consider motherly feelings/affection. Is she considered a good mother only when she noticed these things? I think that is too much pressure to put on a mother who has not been with her child for a looong time. So let's cut mothers some slack.

Anokhi acc to me is confused rn. And about the who her favourite person thing, I think Shaurya has made some place in her heart. She is angry at him for his words but is also very confused about his behaviour around her.

How much slack exactly should we cut her? I am not judging her just because she is unable to gauge Shaurya's feelings. There are many things about her that I found inconsistent. To recall things from today's episode:

1. Shaurya literally jumped on the car's bonnet right in front of her eyes. He could have been injured/died. Anyone would panic. but Aastha didn't say a thing.

2. She didn't try to talk to him at the last minute. A mother, no matter how disrespectful the son is, won't miss the opportunity to talk to her son when they are separating (seprating in the sense of not being in the same city)

3. He knows Shaurya insulted Anokhi. But then neither she scolded him nor she tried to make him understand. She just said Take care of yourself and then let Anokhi go with Shaurya when they were in dhaba crediting him for being a good person.

These were all the inconsistencies in today's episode. If we look at the show as a whole, we would find many more. The biggest slack we cut her character was the fact that she left Shaurya with the Saberwals knowing how they are. I can say that if Shaurya was brought up Aastha, he won't have disrespected Anokhi like that.

I have written a little analysis of Shaurya's feelings in the "bursting the bubble" thread. Sorry still unable to figure how to share link. 🤔

A lot of the questions we have are because they are taking this story in express speed now. Are they in a hurry to finish shooting the important bits before a lockdown? 😆

It's fine. Sejal recently replied on that topic so I found it easily.

Is there another lockdown in India? I don't live there so I am not up-to-date with the news.

I thought they are rushing it to the confession and secret marriage track because of low TRPs.

They could have showed Gayathri instead of Kanchan as the guide. He has spent years with her (grew up with her) and she does have a good bond with both Shaan and Shaurya.

I think they didn't want a serious and genuine guide. They probably just wanted someone voicing the fandom's thoughts to keep the fans on social media happy and excited, and who better than Kanchan who is younger and has not much character graph so far except showing so much interest in Shaan-Aastha's relationship.

I found her excitement about Shaan-Aastha also a little strange in the beginning. Not having met them she was always shipping them too...May be Kanchan is like that? May be she has a shipper heart 🤣
