If I recall at least during ASR's time there were lot of members in that forum who raised concern about his behaviour and manhandling though that didn't do much to the execution of the actual show. I am not sure if concerns were raised regarding SSO.

Besides Gul set a pattern of toxic masculinity (and continues to do so) and the promos of this show claims to aim at the opposite, let's see how they take it forward.

This show already has a good online following without all that manhandling and the execution here has not even romanticised it thankfully however I do hope they stop this soon because it is quite unpleasant to watch.

IB had a decent TRP of 2.0 in the beginning and 1.7 until Surbhi C left. Much better than our show. The online following was such a craze in IF and other medias. I don't know about ASR properly because I was too young to be in social media at that time. I might be wrong, but I heard that the show usually trended on other social media platforms.

To be honest, the misogyny of Shaurya is what we were promised in the promos. We should have been more cautious of what was about to come. But the fact that a girl comes into his life and he changes doesn't go well with me. It should be a logical process.

Honestly, I was a fan of IB when it aired. I was a silly teenager back then in my defense. But now the more I think, the more I hate the ML

Thank you for this post. I thought I was the only one who was like 😔 This sort of behavior is not romantic. The earlier Shaurya who respected boundaries was. At some point, I am going to question how he is different from any other man on this show.

They were on college premises too. I know things have always been personal for them but it was more respectful and always off of college campus.

Apart from the touch, his aggressive expression was a total turn off. I was disgusted with the entire scene and was just like WTF the whole time

if they keep showing this as the new norm on the show, I would not hesitate to stop watching it. He can be an MCP but that does not mean he needs to be shown manhandling. The Shaurya in the initial promos was shown as an MCP but not outside of his professional boundaries

This may have been a reference to professional and personal comment from Monday’s episode and I hope it’s addressed soon. He basically abused his power with Reema too by using the ā€œi am the director of this collegeā€ card

That is the thing. Him being a misogynist is one thing but his getting aggressive to the extent of manhandling her just because he feels she used him (by some twisted logic because she never directly asked for his help) reminded me of all the toxic Male Leads we get to see on itv. Hope they address it because no kind of abandonment issues justify this behaviour. Because the aforementioned male leads also had mom issues, dad issues, rejection issues etc.

Itv promotes manhandling. It's considered something very hot.šŸ˜† If anyone remembers DMG I think it all started from there. Those famous lift scenes. Pushing heroine against the wall.

Ya certain boundaries must be shown especially when it comes to professor and student. There was a show called Left right left. One thing I really liked they never showed such manhandling scenes between cap rajveer and cadet Naina.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who objected to the odd manhandling by Shaurya

I don’t like it at all

It looks a bit cheap and out of character

Ive been trying to understand the perspective of the writers and what message (if any) they are trying to send. In real world, there are lewd and cheap men (and women) in positions of power, both in business and higher education. Who reto to misuse their power which is what happened in the last few episodes. Is that what they are trying to show here? Ok but how do they expect to dig themselves out his major hole they’ve dug themselves into?

honestly anything less than a public apology for abusing his power (not once but multiple times) on campus grounds and a forced resignation are probably in order. Given this is TV, who knows if that will happen? He may announce his resign action but Anokhi may accept the apology and tell him he does not need to resign (consistent with her behavior during the ragging incident)

I sense another outburst with the ACP and hopefully ACP sets him straight as well bcuz Shaurya is guilty of the very same things and worse. So double standards won’t fly.
