No question that a blockbuster like Pathan, even if it doesn't do great shakes at the box office will be a bigger deal than a web series and more "befitting" his star status but the world is changing. Stars like Meryl, DeNiro and Mar Ruffalo are also doing webseries along with their blockbusters in Hollywood.

Admittedly, that shift hasn't happened in India. Also because the writing for webseries remains shitty here, with notable exceptions such as Paatal Lok and Sacred Games.

But all the more reason why SRK with all his resources and star power can be at the forefront of this change. It'll be critical acclaim all the way and he can boost his reach to the millennials and younger generation. A lot of us grew up in the 90s so we feel the connection with him but he needs a push with the generation younger than that.

Regarding OTT - I don't think it's just that they don't want to lose their stardom and thus not going to OTT web series. I think the distributor/exhibitor lobby in India is strong and they'll throw a fit if Khans start moving to web series and retaliate with their upcoming movies. Look at how much they freaked out when movies started going to OTT. They do not want to see anything on OTT. In India, that's why the shift is harder for bigger stars.

Anyways, I'm not sure SRK cares so much anymore. I think he's reached a stage in life in which he's content with what he has achieved and is interested in spending that time with family. The rest is for his fun - it seems he is also focused on expanding his PH. His film choices don't really show me that he's learned much.

SRK doesn't need movies to stay afloat cuz he has plenty of other avenues... but he does seem to care about his slipping star power as an actor. That's why he keeps "experimenting" with weird movies that lack vision and proper storylines. I don't know if it's his resistance to change with the times or his creative team just sucks. Either way, as long as Salman and Aamir have a firm grip on their stardom, I don't think SRK will give up trying to reclaim his.

I got this idea after watching Breathless on Amazon Prime a while back. Madhavan was really good in season 1 while Abhishek was just decent in season 2 ... but I can imagine SRK as vigilante anti-hero along those lines and making waves if that was condensed into a movie.

Contrary to popular belief, I think SRK is an amazing actor.😆 One puppy look with his eyes full of tears can turn anyone into a puddle of mush. He needs to quit experimenting with stupid movies and go for a sure bet ... with a dark themed web series or a movie. I think I have doled out enough golden nuggets for his next career move if he ever visits this site, and so have others, including you Mr. Birdie...... let's hope he listens. 😛
