Hey there!
A friend(Canapoem) suggested that I give this story a try and I am glad I decided to take her suggestion. I binged read(if that is even a phrase) the story late into last night and loved what I read. I honestly thought the story was about Kirti's unrequited love for Tejas. The more I read, the more I remember hoping Tejas wasn't the hero. Even if a love is unrequited, the recipient needs to be worthy of your emotions, haina? And Tejas is....errmmm...
What can you say about a person who knows and sees you(and your situations) but pretends like he has no clue or maybe he just doesn't care?
I really like how you have shown Kirti and Nishit being aware of each other for the longest time. It almost feels like a mating dance ritual that is yet to begin in full swing. The gentle forays and the retreats.
I especially loved the texting. It is really so sad that those nuggets are lost to Kirti.
The forays into the past were really poignant and nostalgic. The chapter where Kirti realizes the socio-economic distance between her and her classmates especially brought a lump to my throat. And the fangirling that closed the distances made me laugh. How many friends I've made fangirling and drooling after our bandha 😉
Another chapter that stood out for me was the one where Prasanna and Kirti's points of view and brought to our attention. The one where Kirti stands Prasanna up. The differences in their thoughts, the inability to see the other's point of view, and the stubborn ignorance of the other's situation....honestly, that chapter hit the nail on the head.
I am really looking forward to the unfolding of the story and the progress in Nishit and Kirti's relationship. I am loving what I've read so far!
