"Chali gayi wo" was something he told sunny when he realised he had missed the chance. And he not only rescued Sai and behaved normally but also was able to counsel his so called love to accept her husband into her life on the wedding night. We didn't have any break down scenes or monologue after he had handed over that mangalsutra to Samrat and answered Kamal Joshi's call for help. In fact, the very next disappointment was Sai running towards her Aaba instead of acknowledging him at the forced wedding when he held Jagtap at gunpoint 😆

Admittedly, the situation was more dire, but the way he crumpled whenever Sai disconnected from him in GC is most interesting. I don't think he was actively intending to marry someone younger, but like I said above it did not take much for him to override his vaada. He technically did not need to marry Sai in order to keep his promise to Kamal sir. The way he hugged Sai in the dream can only be aspired by PP. He was absolutely resolute about it. In contrast, he tried to find many loopholes to justify his marriage to PP('s vaada).

Despite his pyaar-dosti slip, he actually had anything to talk about with PP. I have never seen him actively seek her company after her marriage let alone his.

She's actively pushing them to be one team against the entire house. His lecture to her after Amay kaand shows that the BFF he might have expected to find on his side was actually in the opposition.

The makers had all the ingredients to make the viewers truly confused on who to root for...Pakhi or Sai. They could have explored her hurt and her angst at her hasty decision and the impact of it...and the despair on Virat's marriage while maintaining her dignity. She could have truly been Virat's best friend....been a helping hand to Sai and all this would have still been great for exploring the underlying conflict that both the women are inexplicably tied to this man and because both are amazing, us as viewers would have also been conflicted.

Hurt, despair could have slowly evolved into desperation and at that point she could have evolved as the "machiavellian" self that stops at nothing to get Virat. Cos at this point you might think oh sabr ka pull finally toota and camp Pakhi would have maybe truly sided with her.

Alas...we are unfortunately subjected to a 2 second "love" story, a terrible vaada, zero emotional connection and comic attempts at trying to one-up a clearly outstanding 18 year old. Le Sigh (or should I say Le Sai?)

Exactly. By pushing her into Kaku level kitchen politics, we can no more feel any empathy for her. She's just a vicious, lonely woman with a knife out for Sai now. But she could've been jealous and bitter and not vicious and so openly antagonistic and that would have been more interesting to watch. Now she's one tone and boring. It has a little to do wth the acting as well. The actress who played Roopkotha was excellent. The actress playing Pakhi is ok, but not nearly as experienced as the other one I think.

But I still don't know what Veeru was doing making that vaada to her. It makes no sense. He should really reflect on his own actions one day and think how much samajhdari he applied to his own actions. Then he can judge Sai for her impulsive behavior at times. At least she has the excuse of being 18. What's his excuse- stupidity?

Absolutely true !! Regarding Virat, again Plot Peeve! There are so many different ways the makers could have shown this WITHOUT the vaada. I guess they just had to follow the original plot. Pakhi could have been disappointed that Virat didn't call and had her married and after the marriage she could have met Virat...at which point it's sort of point of no return for both of them...and they could both have agonised side mein....she in a relationship that her heart is not in...him forced to be in the same house as his "true love".

Anyway....we're stuck with the ridiculous vaada, and the one tone of everything around it. It's really difficult to empathise for both Virat and Pakhi about lost opportunities and lost love.

Par aisa vaada karta kon hain, i understand when someone promises i will always love you, par ye kya baat hui ki i will not let enter anybody in my heart.

If i am not wrong, he had said "Main apni dil mein, apni Zindagi mein kisi aur jaga nahi dunga" Zindagi mein toh de di, ab dil ki baari hain

I think he just wanted to get her out of the room and continue with wedding. He did not think it through and did not think that Didi will take the promise that literally.

He promised Sai of letting her go so that she calms down and agrees to the marriage. Dono baar apni hi kabr khod di Saheb ne.
