Top 5 Rabba Ve's | Pre Marriage Arnav - Khushi

I, S from Iss Podcast Ko Kya Naam Doon (where there are infinite discussions of IPK) have decided to put in little articles to engage in a conversation about our favorite show - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. From Khushi's best looks to the best written tracks on IPK, expect an article twice a week over here!

Today's topic is the top 5 Rabba Ve's of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (pre marriage).

One of the best thing of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is their background scoring and on top of that it is the theme assigned to Arnav and Khushi - Rabba Ve. It's sensuous and intimate and manages to be reflect infatuation and a certain sense of purity. I am a sucker for Sufi music and there's almost a touch of sufism in the way Rabba Ve is sung so it always pulled my heart strings.

Also, I have excluded festivals such as Teej, Diwali, from this list because that deserves another list of its own! So without further ado, here are:-

My Top 5 Rabba Ve's' are (in no particular order):

1) Red Saree Photoshoot

This is hands down one of my favorite Rabba Ve's because this is where we all heard the song for the first time. I love it because it happened 23 episodes in the show, and was just so sudden and beautiful that it made my heart flutter. Also, it balanced the perfect line between sudden lust, infatuation and avoided over romanticization. I love it that they left it to the characters and audience to interpret what happened in that moment.

2) Rain Rabba Ve

One of my favorite things about the initial Rabba Ve's is that they leave so much open to interpretation! Literally the only explanation of these events is the sparks exchanged between these two. And I love love love that 'love' knocks on their doors months after this foundation has been built!

3) Guesthouse Rabba Ve

This just lasted for less than a minute, and the thunder literally struck when Arnav saw Khushi and her hair flew around like a goddess! Also, I love that the emotions were so well balanced between rage, attraction and tension.

4) The Eye-Dust

I feel the Diwali near kiss had such an impact because that fire had been stoked and maintained for such a long time. Their stares had such depth and they touched with familiar intimacy :) This specific scene was so beautiful, warm and filled my heart with all the feelz. This is why the Diwali kiss was a welcome surprise and not a sudden 'what ?'.

5) The Day of the Wedding

DO I EVEN HAVE TO SAY WHY THESE MOMENTS WERE MY FAVORITE? I love it that it took them time to reach a moment of true love and affection. My cheeks hurt from smiling because this, in my eyes, is the Golden Age of their relationship :) Somewhere down my heart, I wish we saw more moments like this.

I'm in love with the way you write and envision IPK . Seeing IPK through your eyes is an experience that no true fan should miss 😳.

Coming to my list of Rabba ve moments, I'll not include Diwali as you've put that away for another list. And it's Pre-marriage so all my Rabbe ve are from the same track - the golden era of IPK..... yes the Payash wedding track ⭐️.

Before I begin, let me say that I started watching IPK from this track so my views could be very biased 😆. But I absolutely love the soft, mellow, flirty and in love Arnav... with Khushi who is chattering like usual, but also getting shy; hesitant yet willing to explore the changed dynamics of their relationship

1. Poolside kiss

This was one of the very first full episodes that I watched. And I was smitten enough to search it up on YouTube and watch it again. This episode marks my foray into searching IPK on Google / YouTube 😆.

Coming to the scene.... what can I even say!! Arnav was slightly frustrated and jealous because of NK and Khushi's camaraderie, especially the comfort they shared. He even asks Khushi about why she is so nervous and afraid of him, as they bend down by the poolside to retrieve the fallen bangle.

But I had never ever expected him to turn up his flirting game all of a sudden and decide to make a move this bold!!

From the dupatta grabbing to the kiss, and especially the way he waits and checks her reaction afterwards... ❤️

It was the perfect end to a perfect day. I love the whole Mehendi day starting from Arnav returning the earring to Khushi, her worrying over his disappearance, their conversion after he returns, the kitchen scene with Khushi Kumaaaari Guptaaa AAA... and finally leading to this by their dearest poolside.

2. Teri Meri dance.

This was the scene that had me in Hook, Line and Sinker. It made me become a true IPK pankhi. Teri Meri is my favorite song till date and you get no points for guessing why 😆.

The familiarity with which they touch here, Arnav claiming her as his in front of the world, Khushi a bit hesitant and also a little confused by his sudden change from being competitive to supportive... but she still goes along with the flow. I don't know about Arnav, but Khushi was definitely dancing to his tunes 😉.

And the conversation after this dance, in the changing room is a bonus ⭐️

3. Post hawan, Sangeet shart completion.

I like the Bangles gifting scene too, but the way she teases him, he refuses to answer and finally their encounter by the.... yes poolside again (😆) takes the cake 😳.

I especially like the moment when they are standing with their backs towards each other, Khushi waiting for his answer... Arnav contemplating on his feelings and wondering how much and what to say... that moment had SO much potential!! ⭐️

I was waiting for his answer with my heart dhak dhaking just like Khushi 😆. Surprisingly, the fact that he doesn't reply doesn't disappoint me. Okay maybe it did initially 😆 but it's really understandable if we think about it.

Yes, Arnav had been flirting with her, and was clearly interested in her... but the accident jolted him and showed him just how deep his feelings ran. So quite obviously, he needed time to come to terms with it, and decide what to do further. In a way, I'm glad he did not blurt out Kyu Farak Padta Hai... by the roadside or here. If Shyam and the terrace MU hadn't happened, Arnav would have definitely thought of a much better way to confess.

4. Payash wedding day morning scene

This is one the best Rabba ve moments where they are doing nothing, neither are they in close range, nor is there any external factor influencing them. It's just a soft sweet moment, of seeing each other and smiling. Who knows what they were thinking... that is if they were thinking at all 😆. But it's so CUTE 😳.

The follow up is lovely too... with Khushi feeding the pattals to the cow, Arnav gently teasing her about how it was his fault, and eventually helping her out. And he doesn't stop the teasing and flirting even then... no... he goes on to continue it after the guests are gone and it's just the two of them 😳 😳.

5. Bindi on mirror scene.

It's their last Rabba ve before the disaster strikes 😭. The possibilities were endless at this point... but I won't go into that here. This post is about Rabba ve so I'll stick to that.

Arnav wanted to say something (which I'm still so eager to know... after all these years 😃) but realized that with the guests milling around, it wasn't a really appropriate moment. Yet, he doesn't mind cornering Khushi by the mirror 😉. And his way to give back the Bindi is definitely unprecedented 😆.

Thanks a lot again Stuti for these beautiful pictures🤗. So here's my top five. I have always loved the subtle Rabba Ve's too as the add that charm to the story.

1. The first one has to be the red saree photoshoot like you mentioned. I won't explain as you have done it beautifully in your post.❤️

2. The time when Arnav walks her out of the diya circle. That scene was so unique and beautiful I cannot help but watch it multiple times.

3. The one where she is tangled in the fairy lights. That scene I don't know had a kind of innocence to it with the obvious passion. It portrayed that Arnav could be gentle and delicate with Khushi if need be.😳

4. The one where he saves her from the car in the rain.☺️

5. The fall in the kitchen when Arnav saves Khushi as she comes back after Arnav fires her. He is sooo surprised to see her in the kitchen and that too falling in his arms😆. Though later he blasts everyone for calling her back.

These were too difficult to list down as there are a lot of these in the show.

You're right! We have seen similar scenes here and there but I don't know how they made it so unique!

Oh I love this list and legit agree with almost everything and your podcast!! Imma cheat and just put all my Faves coz I don't like listing just 5 lmao

I think my favourites would be the (in no particular order):

1)first rabba ve

2) rain rabba ve

Although I LOVE the guesthouse track so much, the rabba ve playing didn't fit right with me 🙈

3) Mitti scene rabba ve

4) The one where Khushi is showing NK the dance moves at the dining table (I can't explain why I love this one as much as I do!!)

I also love the midnight HNY one but that wasn't originally a rabba ve so idk

5) legit every single Payaash wedding rituals moment coz that was the PRIME of IPK but, my fave may be the poolside kiss followed by Teri meri, first smiling rabba ve, bindi scene, bangle scene just OMG😍

6) Imma cheat and include Teej: them crashing into each other and marking the sindoor

7) And add Diwali too: The whole dia sequence 😍
