When Pakhi clutched her Mangalsutra...

In today's episode, Pakhi rushed to her room and cried, she was clutching her Mangalsutra, remembering what Sai said about her husband being MIA. What do you think that signifies? They didn't immediately show her thinking about Virat, though she did say that "meri dosti ke liye jagah nahi hai" dialogue later, her first reaction was clutching her mangalsutra and breaking down.

I personally feel that it was in this scene that Samrat's absence actually hit her, not because she feels something for him, but because none of this would have happened to her had he been there. And there's also probably a little bit of guilt at the back of her mind, because he left after he found out about Pakhi - Virat, and she hadn't bothered about it till then. It's only when a 3rd person pointed it out, it actually jerked her to her senses.

What do you guys think about this scene?? Thoughts please...

hi niya i actually thought clutching the mangalsutra and breaking down was of some significance and we will get samrat pakhi journey too

But then she went home and told her parents about her reason for leaving sasural. And i am confused as to what the makers are trying to prove

Ooh, that's an interesting way of looking at it. My first thought was that she's wearing the wrong person's Mangalsutra. Remember when she imagined Virat stopping Samrat from putting the mangalsutra and he made her wear it instead on the wedding day?- That's where my mind went. If Virat had done that, all this siyappa would've never happened.

But guilt/loneliness could also be a factor. No matter what Sai and Virat's status is, Pakhi has seen Virat always support Sai and she misses that. Baaki ghar walon ka support will never measure up to a husband/ partner's support.

Because Sai showed her a mirror which was not flattering to her self-image. Her being cornerd in such a way kind of shattered the perfect illusion that she has concocted, and what she was left with, was her reality - her marriage to Samrat, with the mangalsutra serving as a symbol of it.

It's symbolical how a mirror was used in that scene where she was clutching her mangalsutra. (The word "narcissist" is drawn from Greek mythology where narcissus falls in love with his own image, after looking at a pool of water-his mirror). Her image was not flattering in that moment because somehow Sai has reminded her of a feeling that she was trying to run away from, shame.

I also thought that it looked like she was kind of blaming the mangalsutra for all her miseries..

I love how you thought about this. It didn't even hit me but then it makes so much sense. She like finally remembered about what Samrat did. Man literally left his wife so that she could live free for as long as he's gone. But I think she really missed his presence. That part actually made me sad for Paki. Like shes the girl with the missing husband who left the day after they got married. I think she felt guilt too.

Agreed. My first thought was that she wanted to rip that thing off. Like it was stopping her from what she actually wanted.

I thought so too when that scene came by

But the scene with her parents undid all of that. Her thoughts were only about Virat. Even during her exit, she kept using Samrat as the shield while speaking of Virat as the reason for her disappointment. The way she sat down to coolly drink the water, I don't know why but I thought her expression said she was still in the game and is waiting for the next move from her opponent.

I don't trust her intentions yet. It's more anger of rejection and being 'put down' or not being 'chosen' by Virat. I don't think the realisation can hit her so soon.

I agree with you.... looking into mirror was the very nice and it’s symbolic

Sai was that mirror... mirror never lies.... and sometime we can’t look at our own image into mirror.... no one likes to see the ugly image of self (not talking about beauty here)

After Samrat left and virat came back... she was very closer to what she desires for but then sai came in between

She tried to remove her... defamed her but she showed her mirror that she is still someone else’s wife... that someone is samrat... she didn’t like what she saw in mirror

Yes there’s a guilt too but more than guilt there was a sigh for not getting what she desires

She wanted to rip that mangalsutra but can’t do it... it makes her image uglier

So next morning she left house so she doesn’t have to look into mirror

@ Bold Many of her tears today were for herself. She has fallen in her own eyes. Pakhi is not person with zero senitivity. She does have her moral compass which reminds her what is right (Virat ab puri tarah se Sai ka ho chuka hai..tumhe bhi jindagi me aage badhana chahiye scene). But next moment her obsession overpowers her moral voice. She in her heart of hearts knows what she is doing is not right but she just can't help it. Her obsession will get her back in the game, coolly and clamly just the way she sipped the water and use everyone (including her parents) as her pawns.
