Why? I know lot of professional women who hit 40 and realize you can't have kids anymore. Unfortunately us women are not like men. They can be 65 , marry a 25 year old woman and still have kids. Us women cannot. Now if you do not want kids at all-that is fine. But unlike men, if you want to change your mind and hit a certain age -it is very, very difficult.

Nope but depends what kind of role she got in Matrix it could be That chance to get notice and jump to better projects

Yeah, Ash appeared on a lot of talk shows but talk show appearances in itself are not an achievement. Neither for Ash nor for Priyanka. The achievement is the actual movie. The production company then puts them on the talk show circuit to promote the project. It's common for literally every movie and TV show. The US has more than a dozen daily talk shows and are always in need of people to fill the slots.

For Ash, the timing was wrong. HW was not really interested in desis and didn't yet understand how big that market is. It was Oscars So White type of controversies that have helped minorities get more work and attention because HW doesn't want to look like racists. Now they throw in the token brown or black person into every project.

Ash was also too traditional to do some of the types of scenes HW wants from hot girls. I think her looks played against her too. Indians have the wrong idea and think white skin and light eyes makes you Hollywood material but that is not the case. They already have enough people that look like that. They would prefer those that look more expectedly Indian.

I didn’t follow BW as actively back then as I do now, just watched a few movies there and there. But didn’t she do mistress of spices and bride and prejudice? She had the lead role in both. And I think few guest appearances sort of things as well

As someone else said it here, she so successful when you compare her to her BW contemporaries, in influence and status. However, in HW standards she's doing ok. She has work which is a big plus b/c it's already so hard for aging actresses ( I know 30s isn't old, but if you watch the HW roundtables a lot of actresses mentioned being out of work when they hit their mate 30s /early 40s) and WOC as well. She has 4 films coming up, is very influential and more importantly is friends with the right people. She did a good job of networking and making her circle so I would consider that a job well done.

What happen to the tv series she was doing on Madhuri ?

She has started her career there and a very good start . But to be called successful she has long way to go.

Typical Seema aunty mentality. A woman could be a billionaire, popular in the world, doing so much good work. And yet what does she gets judged for? Not having a family or kids!

Why can't people just appreciate the good work Indian women have done across the world, surpassing all the barriers and prejudice. I'm no fan of PC, but atleast she is self made and made such a huge name for herself in the industry.

It's disgusting mentality like this which still holds the country backward. And when does this junta wake up? When someone like SSR dies, that's the only time people would appreciate their value. Else she can be a PM of India, and yet she would be considered a bad woman for not having a family!

Except black men and women , no other minority get decent roles in HW
