June 06th 2011, was the day when Indian Television, which was running out of miracles, was blessed with this magical epic saga of love. A show which had one prominent star of that time Sanaya Irani, who came to be a Youth Star from her previous show, people who were against seeing her opposite anyone but her co-star in that show, predictions that the pairing will be a flop.
What happened after was history.
Here we relive, the magical journey of Arnav and Khushi, or what we'd like to call Arshi, from enemies who want to kill each other but thrive to kiss each other until they run out of breath. Let's go!

Can you believe it's been 9 years since we met these crazy yet adorable people? Time flies!🌚😭 Apart from the stellar lead couple, the casting of this show has been perfect, just perfect. All the characters have made their mark in our hearts and are still very much vibrant in our memories, and it never felt forced, it felt like they were all really a family, Raizadas and Guptas living their life.
Oh, how can we ever forget Arnav's what the-? which could never be completed because it's national television, a sanskari channel on which the show is airing. Anjali's whining and pouting which always got her Chottey to do whatever she wants, even if he doesn't. The sibling chemistry has been as iconic as the show itself is.
Akash and his Payal Ji. They have been such sweet, chocolaty lovers who really didn't went through so many hurdles, but then when Arnav and Khushi had to solve all the issues, before they got together, Akash and Payal faced the reality of life once their honeymoon period was over. Nevertheless, they are one of the couples who are still in our hearts, filling it with sweetness.
Remember, Khushi's confession to her sister and her reaction? "Hawww Khushi" by Payal is till date one of my favourite lines from the show! And and and, Khushi's epic reaction to the first ever wink of Mr.Arnav Singh Raizada, urf her Arnav ji, I don't think I will ever forget that.
Graceful Nani, Buaji's sankadevi, titaliya, haye re nandkishore!, Mami ji's hello hi bye bye and their stellar performances and brilliantly written characters, can we ever forget this cute clan of Raizadas and Guptas?
Special mention to Nandkishore, under all the cute jumping around behaviour he has, we've seen a romantic side of him when he first met Khushi. I am very much convinced he liked Khushi in a way he didn't like anyone in the past. And it has been that deep, because of why he stood with her through thick and thin, even after she got married to Arnav. He could have easily been turned into a villian, but he didn't and that's what I like about IPKKND, his love for his Nannav and Khushi got the best of him! Cheers to you, our cutie NK!

La, La, La. How can we ever forget Lavanya Kashyap urf Ms. Tip Taap urf Lavanya Ji? She had the best redemption (not really a redemption, I don't know what is the perfect word to use) I have seen on TV. From being the 'mean boss' in the office to the best friend of Khushi, she changed. From downright insulting traditions to scolding others for insulting it, she changed. From Character Dheela to Salam-E-Ishq, she changed, for better, maybe for best. She loved Arnav, really loved him but she forgot herself in the love, forgot she wasn't the only one in the relationship, maybe she didn't forget, she conveniently ignored the fact that she has been receiving whatever she was getting from the relationship instead of asking for her rights, ignoring the fact that Arnav really didn't see her as his partner. She was again another character who could've turned into a villian easily. Before Nani, Anjali, even before Arnav Khushi themselves, she realized Arnav's untold, suppressed feelings for Khushi which he brushed away every now and then. She cared for him, she loved him and that's why, she had to leave. Lavanya will always have a piece of my heart, a girl who left the man she loved because, she loved him enough, to let him go.
Now we'll come to the stars, the souls, people who have the biggest hands in attracting millions towards this one show, millions all around the world.

9 years since we met Arnav Singh Raizada. He was bruised, he was broken and he was living under a constant fear of becoming a man his mother isn't proud of, a man like his father, who committed adultery. It wasn't that he didn't value marriage, bonds and life-long love, it was because he didn't find anyone who is worth giving all that, who is worth that life long commitment. He was abusive, he was toxic at times, but that wasn't all he was. I've always seen people commenting how toxic Arnav is, but if you analyse, he is a character with layers, with a past, who is triggered into these behaviours. Nevertheless, what made him different was, he realized it, his wrongdoings haunted him, he asked for forgiveness. Like these people, no one understood him, until a day, she entered his life, to break down all the shields he had built around his heart. It disturbed him, the way this girl mattered to him, it exasperated him, he tried and tried and tried, to hate her, to bruise her but he couldn't and whenever he set her on fire, it was he who burnt. At last, Arnav Singh Raizada urf ASR, had shed all his shields, to turn into the prince of her dreams, who swept her off her feet, to take her into a world of passion & timeless love. Arnav Singh Raizada finally fell in love.❤✨
Oh How I miss him! One of the brilliantly written characters in the entire Television History. One can love or hate him, but can never ignore ASR.🌚 Thank You Barun for nailing this complex character.❤✨

"Love her freely, she has her own wings to fly." - 9 years since we met Khushi Kumari Gupta. I don't think there is any other perfect quote than this, to address Khushi. That night when she fell into his arms, he felt like he was alive again, to live a life with colors, laughter, happiness and love. She withstood all the storms in her life, she had her family, her Devi Mayya, but her life didn't had love, a kind of love which will consume her with passion, a kind of love which will make her heart beat faster than ever. It wasn't easy, it wasn't easy to fall in love with him, he was bruised, he was hurt, he was abusive a time or two, but she saw, through all those shields, a man with a heart, a man who was afraid to love, a man who was in fear, she thrived to understand him, to mend him, no matter if she herself had to get bruised in the process and slowly she carved her way into his heart. Khushi was a girl, who was confined to a little world of hers, her, her family and Devi Mayya. She thought the whole world was like her, she wasn't flawless. She judged, loathed him for being an atheist, judged people according to their dresses, judged people who agree to live-in relationships. Her small bubble was broken by him, to get her into a wide world where contradictions of world occur, she learned to accept others' views, respect them, she found passion, she found love, she was consumed by it. He could love her freely, because she had her own wings to fly and never wanted him to get her one. Khushi was a character, who had her own flaws, yet was selfless, caring and above all, she knew how to hold onto people she loves, otherwise he would have never been hers. A Khushi Kumari Gupta is in every one of us, always hoping for the happiness of our loved ones. Loving her, healed him and Healing him, made her love. She's been through hell but she wore her smile so heavenly - That's Khushi for you. ❤✨
Sanaya, Thank you for portraying Khushi, it was only you who could have made us feel all those emotions she went through. Love you to the moon and back.

They weren't just another couple on TV, it wasn't just another TV show. They were special. It was a collision capable of burning the whole world with passion. Arnav and Khushi were poles apart, but they were that kind of opposites which were dynamic if they met. They were lethargic, they could make us breathless just with a mere eyelock, amidst all the passionate moments, they had heart touching conversations, apologies, cute simple gestures, care and ethereal love. When Khushi cares to make sugarless sweets for him, Arnav's heart skips a beat at that simple gesture, which proves she cares, when he gifted her silver coins, he smiled at her happiness. Besides all the hate, misunderstandings, fights, swirling hurtful words at each other, one thing was constant - their love for each other. Even when they shouted 'I hate you!' at each other, we could feel the undying love they're suppressing. Arnav and Khushi, is an eternal saga, an iconic love story which can never be replaced, nor be recreated. It may lack political correctness, but that's how real world works. Two people with their own flaws, pasts, conflicts, bruises meet to create a better version of themselves, to mend each other, together!
60+ countries, 20+ languages, one magical tale of passion, 9 years, still the magic is intact - Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.❤✨
Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti, or what we would like to call SaRun, Thanks for living as Arnav and Khushi, if not for you, the magic wouldn't have burnt us in it, consuming us, taking us away into a world full of Arnav and Khushi's timeless love.
