She's touching his feet out of respect..but you never see men reciprocating this. They always equate husband to god but never say that wife is equal to goddess.
My mom really believes in the karva chauth thing because she grew up with it watching it in her family. I don't think it's wrong as long it's the woman's choice and she is not forced to fast but it just seems a bit lopsided to me.
@bold....i will ask my friends for my foot massage from now and onwards...as long as they're washing their hands....before & after...
@bold....for your mom...that's cute....see believing is magic....if you don't believe you won't get the magic....in this case...I don't see believe exist for me...need to know what's the heck is that...will ask google dude...
@bold....that's so cute...
Is touching feet something sacred?.... I often touch....mine...family...friend...for foot messages...and patients....to comfort them...
Yes, touching feet is sacred. We touch feet of people to show our respect and take blessings.
Earlier people used to touch their elders, teachers feet daily. It's just is an easy way to create harmony as well as a bit of exercise for body.

But this varies from region to region or even in different families. So, I've never touched anyone's feet because in my family, girls don't touch their parents/relative's feet because they are considered devi (goddess). But rules change if you are a girl who is married into the family lol

Yes India has such a huge variety of cultures that we can't put all customs togetherđ

@bold.....I've to research that to understand...I thought a good deed helps you to receive blessings...what is the connection between feet touching and blessings? maybe some nerve point .....difficult anatomy for me...guess

We aren't very touchy...especially my relatives in India. With my parents, yeah we usually hug when we meet. Usually a good Namaste will do for my family in India
