Chapter 1
The bright piercing sun rays entered through the French doors directly hitting on my face forced me to open my eyes in annoyance.
"what the"
Khushi was pacing back and forth by the pool. I rubbed my eyes making sure I wasn’t hallucinating.
what just happened??!
Khushi in MY bedroom? That too early in the morning?
She does look cute in that full sleeved black t-shirt, sleeves slightly pushed to her elbows, and her loose trousers. Oh, that huge pair of glasses on her cute little nose, and that messy bun of her silky locks. Oh
Yeh hawaain zulfon mein teri
Gum hojayeeinn
Where did the violins come from? And the strong winds?
Stop acting like a love struck teenager ASR!
But when did things ever go normal around Khushi?
I got out of my bed as she continued to walk back and forth, talking to someone on the phone. The room was scattered with rose petals and other decorations.
I could feel my eyes pop out and my brain showed a recap of last night's events.
So it was not a dream? And I am actually married to her?
Oh my god.
I stopped in front of the mirror when I saw the smirking reflection
Yes you are finally married thank god!
He rolled his eyes
Gosh you are so slow! you are married Ay Ass Are
He said blankly.
"ok ok I get it but why does it feel like a dream? It feels so unreal" I spilled my confusion
That's because normally people don't switch brides five minutes before the wedding.
Whoa.
But how can anything be normal in your life? gotta live up to the name right Ay Ass Are
So all that switching brides, the family's surprise, Khushi's plan was real? It had actually happened.
Wow Now that's a thrill.
Stop being amused, you didn't really have a role you know in what seems so thrilling to you.
I raised an eyebrow
Well actually the tantrums count
"shut up" I rolled my eyes
It's not like it'll work...well anyway my work is done here thankfully,
now you are on your own with your married life, and by the way congratulations.
He winked and disappeared.
"leave chahiye?” Khushi’s fuming voice pulled me out of trance.
“ Why don't you take a permanent leave and do us all a favor? Bohat ehsaan hoga hum par!" she disconnected the call, almost breaking the red button.
She exhaled moving her fringe out of the way in frustration.
I smiled at the woman who belonged to me now.
As I went closer she turned around and her anger died down a bit.
I pulled her closer holding her from the waist, our noses almost touching.
"Kya hua?" I asked, not being able to stop the continuous smile playing on my lips.
"main aik din kya office nahi gayi wahan to toofan agaya" she said creasing her forehead.
I smoothened the lines of worry on her forehead and she immediately looked up.
"to ladki se company akeley sambhali nahi jaa rahi haii" I asked with a certain glint in my eyes.
She raised an eyebrow.
"ladki ko underestime mat karo" she said trying to hide that smile of hers as she placed her hands on my upper chest.
"acha?" I asked, my heart was filled with anticipation.
"ladke ko pata nahi hai, yeh ladki kya kya karsakti hai" she said as she pulled me closer by the hem of my shirt’s neck, and looked at my lips.
Feisty.
"kya kya kar sakti hai?" I replied, looking at her lips. Oh man.
She moved a centimeter closer, I moved a centimeter closer.
"choteyyy choteyyy"
We both jumped back.
I enjoyed the expression of shock on her face.
Welcome to the circus.
"Choteeyyy"
Di said lightly as she knocked on the door.
Both me and Khushi entered the room and I opened the door.
"yes Di?" I asked, clearly annoyed.
"neeche breakfast ke liye ajao, aur kuch important baat bhi karni hai and Khushi wear this today as today is your first day as a Raizada bahu and my bhabhi in this house" she said as he lightly hugged Khushi and gave a gift bag.
"Thanks Anjali..uh..mujhe tumhe Di to nahi kehna hoga na?" Khushi asked terrified.
'Of Course not!" Di rolled her eyes at her and left the room.
Khushi opened the bag to reveal a beautiful red sari with intricate embroidery.
After she was done admiring the sari her smile vanished and she looked at me as her jaw dropped.
"kya hua?"
"mujhe sari pehenni nahi aati" she said blankly looking at the piece of cloth in her hand as she held the bag in the other.
"should I call Di?" I offered.
"No." she said as she dreadfully dropped her eyelids.
"nanii?" I said hesitantly.
"No!" she said annoyed.
"to phir google karlo!" I said putting the last option.
"Thank you so much for your options, I will manage!"
she said as she looked at me in the eye with fury.
What the hell.
She turned around to go to the bathroom.
"Khus-"
before I could say anything she cut me mid sentence.
Is that how one respects their husband?
"the more romantic thing would be to ask me to help me with the sari but no, using google is so charming right!" she said as she walked in the bathroom, banging the door shut.
Ohh I see.
I couldn't help but smirk.
It's been fifteen minutes since she entered the bathroom.
"Khushi…are you fine? Or do you need any help?" I asked standing at the bathroom door, trying to control the laughter that was bubbling imagining her petite figure struggling with the complicated sari.
'Im fine!"
She said as she tried to hold all the sides of the sari.
I heard the noise of something falling on the floor. It was probably the heavy cloth.
I smirked.
"Khushi…I know you need my help"
“no I don't"
so she wont accept it so easily.
"achaa…to ab ladki ko sari baandhna bhi nahi aata"
I could feel her anger rising.
“shut up Arnav!”
"dekhlo, tumhara pehla din sasural mein, breakfast pe late jaogi…who bhi fashion disaster ban ke…ghar walo pe kya impression padega…tsk…tsk"
I said in mock sympathy.
Looks like she has realized what can happen in this circus! Ha ha!
"really?"
"yepp"
"dekho mujhe darane ki zaroorat nahi hai aisa kuch nahi hoga!" she said pointing her finger at me as she opened the door, without realizing the sari with which she was struggling lay abandoned by her feet.
She had her skirt and the blouse on. Her waist was revealed and her hair was down, creating a thick silky curtain around her face which was turning red with embarrassment.
"damn it" she said as she realized what had just happened.
I couldn't help but chuckle.
I held her hand and grabbing the sari with the other hand led her to the mirror.
"Arnav I'll-"
"ssshh"
now was not the time.
I moved my hands to her waist and grabbing the end of the sari I started making pleats as I tugged in the cloth.
____________
"Arnav I'll-"
"ssshh"
He was helping me with the sari, so he ‘s not hopeless after all.
I could feel the tingling sensation as his hands touched my skin every now and then.
So this is what they call kuch kuch hota hai
His gaze was piercing through my body and I could feel the heat rising.
____________
She was turning red and looking even more beautiful. Was it even possible to grow prettier within seconds?
I finished with the pleats and placed the pallu over her shoulder, she looked down at her feet turning redder than the sari, as she lightly bit her bottom lip.
I don't even know how I am still standing, and haven't melted into a pool yet.
I moved slightly closer to her face and held her shoulders. She blushed harder, my eyes narrowed as my smile continued to widen.
I made her sit on the stool in front of the mirror.
I could see the expression of shock on her face as her eyes widened and I knew she was disappointed.
Before she could say a word.
"now you're on your own" I winked and left to get changed.
I could still feel her frozen expression at my back.
Now that was fun.
_______________
what was that?
Now you are on your own??
just when I had started to think how romantically cute my husband is this is what I get?
Just wait Arnav …Arnav singh Raizada! Just wait!
