Varun's October opened at 5 crores. Ranbir's Bombay Talkies opened at 3.75 crores. These would be fair comparison to a movie like Chappak even if neither dealt with a disfigured protag. Ranveer's Lootera also did only 4.5 crores on opening day, but it was a while ago, and he hasn't done an arthouse type movie recently for fair comparison. As for Kangana, let her try an arty movie first, then they can compare. As an actress, Kangana is probably the best of that lot, but as a star? Nuh-huh.

Hello fake SRK fan. Interesting how you didn't mention the opening day collections of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani because even you know that it'll expose Deepika stardom. Why BM opened lower than Dilwale if Deepika is such a big superstar?..., even bigger than SRK who has been in the industry for nearly 30 years.

Neither Ranveer,Varun or Ranbir(except me) are called Superstars on this forum. It's Deepika who is hailed as the last female Superstar by all her fans. October, Lootera, Bombay Velvet had their own disadvantages, I agree but these films collections are still used to mock their lead actors. So why should Deepika be spared? Ranbir has Sanju without Deepika and Ranveer has Simmba without Deepika.

Nobody is doing that. They're comparing Chhappak to other female-led movies, not to Dabanng! None of these women were the stars of masala movies. Masala movies require a combination of action, comedy, and romance.

Pari was a small feminist horror movie. Akira starred a nobody. Aishwarya is a semi-retired actress who came in a B-grade movie like Jazba and got the same results as Deepika.

I'm not even comparing to stuff like Veere De Wedding which did twice as well as Chhapak. That was a fun movie with popular music so it can be excluded.

The only two female-led movies which did worse are Sky is Pink and that Helicopter movie Kajol did. Neither actress has an active fan base anymore so that's not shocking.

Chhappank is similar to Manikarnika, the lead actresses of both hogged the limelight due to controversies making the movie all about themselves by desperate fabricated forced controversy and the actual inspiring Laxmis of both movie were sidelined by the two narcissistic attention seeking assholes.

And no, it is not a good number, while the movie still can be a success, lekin Deepika just like Kangu, failed, because they hogged the limelight for themselves than give more emphasis to the story.

How is 5.5 Cr opening at 1000 screen and negativity from Bhakts a bad opening ?
