Lol Aishwarya had not one but two female centered movies made on her in her mid 40s....But what did she do with it? Nada!!!!

Production house backing or not, it ultimately comes down to whether you are putting the human butts on the theater seats or not! Its the basic business one o one! For all the influence people attribute to YRF, I am sure even they cannot drag people to the theaters if their lead actress sucked!

Rani’s diverse filmography and talent speak for itself.

There was little promotion, no song and no PR articles yet Mardaani seems to be going upward in terms of BO.

This whole humility in performance is quite funny for me . I watched Mardaani and I saw this tough cop Shivani Shivaji Rao , watched Talaash and saw grief ridden desperate mother , watched Hichki or Aiyya ..

Rani like Aamir gives so much to the roles and seems like she has the ability to pull people to theater.

it’s not funny, it’s a perception. Sometimes I find it hard to see the character behind her acting. But yes you do bring a very valid point regarding talaash and cop.
I still would not put her in the same league as Tabu. Rani doesn’t do complex characters, but yes, she gets butts in the cinemas, but then that’s a question too - is it her stardom that brings butts or acting? I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️

Please explain Salman?? He is 53 and at the top, megastar and a legend ...loved by millions.

IMO...in BW stardom is still bigger than talent....atleast until now....I don't know about the next generation...because the next generation won't have superstars or that audience connection or the loyal fanbase.....the next generation might run on content and/or talent.

I think TM was restricting her comments to women/actresses

But Yes Salman is great. I predict Dabangg can be this year's biggest blockbuster 🥳

Rani doesn't have fans? Aja whatssap pe, we will show u. I run the biggest fan club of Rani, many of them I knew as a 15 yr old, some of them now work in big media houses in different capacities, why you know? Because they love Rani and felt she is not properly represented by the media, that's her impact. Her entire career is based on her genuine fans who are with her like a rock unlike the other actresses who have fake pr driven fans..we fans get nothing in return, she's the least fan pleasing actor but still we have immense faith on her talent, we feel she's the most versatile and special actor on this planet and that's why we will be with her always.

And as for having fans outside social media, her BO of films speak for herself.. And remember one thing, it doesn't matter whose production house it Is, if the star doesn't have capability, then the film would tank. Hichki IMO was the most difficult performance by any actor in recent times, it was flawlessly portrayed that's why many dint notice the difficulty level.

Rani is the only actress who doesn't have any social media team, she disappears completely, no media appearances, no award shows, red carpets, talk shows, events etc which others do, comes after a long gap and still makes a film work with ghastly promotions. Give credit where due pal..

If things worked on that basis, ekta maiya would churn one film after another for tushar, ajay for kajol , adi for uday chopra. ..

Aish, Preity, Kajol and many other actresses have taken breaks in their career..

Aish took a break for motherhood..and for some time focused on choices that gave her more time with family..she kept busy with appearances and ads..

Preity took time off to focus on her IPL team..

Kajol also stopped taking up movies post mrg n kids..

They all made a comeback.

Tabu never stopped doing movies. Since start of her career she did films at her own pace and carved a niche for herself..she always was into variety of roles which were not necessarily lead or conventional heroine..and she is getting such roles even today.

Rani is a different case..she is YRF ki malkeen..she can get roles written for herself, produced by her banner and given the best treatment..all to ensure a hit. Her movies may be hit..but I don't see a hype for Mardani like say Manikarnika or Piku. It's in a way like those low budget movies who release without pomp and make profit.

She is definitely a good actress but it doesn't mean others were all hype and no substance

She has had many flops also from the same production house, give credit where it's due.
