see you are NRI and it's normal for you to get angry on Sunny's generalized comment, which makes every Indian in America a backward thinking buffon. But you can't deny many Indian origins people, do stuffs which we don't even do here.

Please read what u have written....its not about NRIs vs Resident Indians....its about individuals.....NRIs can be as good or as bad as Indians back home is the only point I am trying to make....Sunny Leone making a blanket statement about NRIs makes her sound like an idiot.....

Sunny is just thrilled that her p0rn star status has been happily accepted in India while it was not amongst the desi community in the US.

Other than that, there is no point making wild accusations at either side. I also get shocked how "some" in India are so overly forward and Westernized while the desis in the US hold on more to things like family values. Everyone will have their own perspective based on what they have personally seen.

We love our sweet and charming Rakhi Sawant too😊 Sunny makes lesser outrageous comments compared to her..rather sunny doesn't make them at all. Basically we live and let live..jisko jaise jeena hai jiyo

That sounds like a great utopia but in my personal experience, this forwardness (mainly applies just to sex and tiny clothes) is just an outward dressing.

The blase attitude only applies to those types of minor things and not to ones that actually matter. I've seen it with my own eyes that same ones engaging in premarital sex and acting all cool and more Westernized than the actual West are the same ones who will then get arranged marriages and ask for cars in dowries. These are the same people who will insist the daughter in law live with the husband's family, demand male children, etc.

But everyone's mileage varies based on what they've seen.

While generalization is foolish, I can always speak from my own experience.

A large %ge of Americans of Indian ethnicity do cling to the same prejudices they saw in the land of their origin when they left it. Casteism, racism, sexism, regionalism... etc. I have heard parents being mocked behind their backs when their children (2nd gen) marry black or Latino Americans. Many demand exorbitant dowries. Domestic abuse is not uncommon. Unfortunately, this is all grouped under "preserving culture."

Also under the guise of ethnic pride, some badmouth the very nation that welcomed them. Which is not to say the U.S. shouldn't be criticized by immigrants, but when there is an undertone of disdain for all things America, it begs the question 'why are you here?' If it is only for money, then it speaks more about your character (generic you) than about the U.S. or India. Love your biological mother and adoptive mother; they've both had a hand in making you who you are.

Sunny Leone, of course, would've run into more disapproval than most desi Americans, but I have no doubt she would've found the same disapproval no matter what community she came from - Indian, Chinese, Irish, Italian, Mexican, whatever. At the same time, when you're young and stupid, you do make mistakes. She's left her past behind. People should let her move on.

Ya this hypocrisy exists..m not denying it..have seen it too. M not talking about being forward on our own..Rakhi Sawant example was to say that majority of people let these celebs be..they r not judged or outcast depending on their personal choice or profession or mannerism.

Having said that..same may not be the case when it comes to friends, family or known people. They may still be judged or criticized.

But generalisation in this topic was for NRIs..not resident Indians. That's a different case.

She may have had her reasons tochoose her profession. Maybe she came across offers, found it easy money.. whatever.

But from her public appearances she seems to be well mannered and polite. She must've gone through lot of hate for her choice but has spoken about it very rarely
